This is my first time driving the car, warts and all. Sensitivity didn't feel right for this car so I changed it a bit during the race. Even with 0 upgrades, braking points are later than usual for this track and the grip is great. No assists, Tilt B.

Pretty easy event. I'd say the 2016 PORSCHE has no upgrades. Made sure to win by a small amount. No assists, Tilt B.

3.3 is a 2 laps fuel saving challenge where you have to stay at the 1st place. No real challenge for those who play tilt B with no assists.

3.1 This one took me a few tries. The main thing was figuring out where the bot was going to drive for the first corner. I used some cuts. However based on how far I got a head driving on track later, they weren't required. Plus, I didn't skid once! All level 1 upgrades applied, no assists, Tilt B, sensitivity 6.

3.2 Reaching minimum speed was easy. Keeping minimum speed will not having a huge lead was not. I didn't take any cuts because I wanted to keep the pack closer to me. 3.1 Elimination : First corner (Abbey) is important, a good fast in and out is required to overtake last car just before the time ends. Rest, use shortcuts mostly until getting the lead since there is no "don't go offtrack" rule.

Silverstone cuts

Silverstone shortcuts

3.2 Cup : After first two fast turns (Abbey), cut the tight right and left turns (Arena section) by going directly opposite side of track passing next to the red barrier on grass for getting the lead. Rest was not hard, keep your speed as high as possible, at the end of last lap i got 212 km/h average.

3.3 Cup : Again use shortcuts to maintain your lead, when put enough distance between you and your opponents start coasting before turns for fuel efficiency.

3.4 Autocross target time was 31.259, i did 31.239 with couple of tries.

Day 4 is not started for me yet, after day 3 got 1 drivetrain upgrade, let's see if it will be enough for day 4 :)

I had to hustle to finish in time! Hitting the wall head on where I went WAY off-track would work great here. Tilt B, no assists, sensitivity 6, upgrades 1112121.

In conclusion, day 4 could be done with less than 1112121.

5.1 You need to get on him by the exit of the first 180 degree turn. Then you have to pretty much stay right with him until the last turn. I found I could get away with some side contact and slow him down a bit. As you can see, I actually got away with a lot of contact! I didn't mean to wreck him, it's pretty risky as it can fail you. Damage adds up through a race, so I was quite surprised that my contact in the last corner didn't fail me. Tilt B, no assists, sensitivity 6, upgrades 1112121

5.2 I added 2 body upgrades to do this one. I found a great start point to make the run for the minimum top speed. I stopped there each lap just so I knew I could nail it each time. Go full gas and watch your speedometer after that final little left hand turn before the big 180. You need to anticipate the top speed and nail the brakes right aways. 5.3 I found this one quite hard. I probably tried it 50 times. I won once with a 49m lead, just 1m short! I finally won when I was two bars unserviced and got a little lucky. As you can see there's a big wreck that I got through cleanly. Then I just had to hunt the rest down. I purposely got up on the bumper of the first-place car to shove him off track. I knew there was no way I was going to get a 50+m lead being slightly damaged (had to be under 100m). Another tip, exiting the race and re-entering it will give you a different line up. The bots names are the same, but the cars they're driving are different. This can sometimes be the cause of delays or crashes. Tilt B, no assists, sensitivity 6, upgrades 1132121

Controls: Buttons, Steering high, Brakes low and TC off, Steering Sensitivity 1. Online For some reason my game hadn’t saved after the run yesterday, so I had to re-run 4.3 & 4.4, then start stage 5.

  • 5.1 1 lap H2H @ Laguna Seca -Tailgate within 22 yd (20 m) for 45 seconds and win without damage.
1) 2nd 1:11.834 v 1:11.458 Williams, was able to keep up OK, using BA low, but I manual braked to assist and brake earlier than BA low alone, I can then launch out of the corners and maintain top speed, I pass at the cork screw, braked too much couldn’t pass Williams, used 4 bar of damage. Cloud restored.
2) 1st 1:12.372 v 1:12.591, managed to win this time! Again I assisted the BA low setting, and manually braked early, I was able to reach 45 seconds at the corkscrew and passed the bot going down the hill. I then took the last three corners, with extra caution and held at the bot slightly. Used 5 bar of damage, 4 red remaining.

  • 5.2 Endurance @ Laguna Seca - Reach a top speed of 170 mph (274 kph) 3 times and win without going off-track for more than 1 second
1) DNF, target 6.5mi Santos, which was not a problem, I managed to reached 170 mph once, at the end of the straight and rear ended a bot, but when I tried again I went off track, used 5 bar of damage, will service and try in 3 hours

Car: PORSCHE 911 RSR (2017) PR86.9 17/27 3332321, stage 3 upgrades now complete.

2) 1st 5.98mi v 5.8mi Santos, managed to reach 170 mph in two spots, the start/finish straight and the straight before heading up hill, I had BA off to help reach the 170 mph, had 60 seconds when I passed 1st. Stopped and waited (Wheel B), used 11 bar of damage

  • 5.3 1 lap Cup @ Laguna Seca - Win with a lead within 55 yd (50 m) and 110 yd (100 m), and without damaging your car
1) 1st 1:12.272 v 1:13.105 Santos, starting 12th, I hit a bot on turn 3, that slowed my progress, didn’t make 55yd lead. Restore and retry.
1) 1st 1:11.266 v 1:12.733 Santos, better run this time, was in 3rd going up the hill, passed for 2nd in the kink and cut the cork screw for 1st, braked on the finish line to win by ~75 yd, used 7 bar of damage, 6 red bars remaining.

  • 5.4 2 lap Cup @ Laguna Seca - Reach an average speed of at least 116 mph (186 kph) and win without going off-track for more than 1 second
1) DNF, starting 22nd, went off track at turn 2
2-4) tried a few more times, but couldn't do it with damage, I had 117 mph at one point, but was in 6th and pushed too hard, serviced, will try again in 3 hours.

Start / End Strategy[]

The player has 6 days to complete the 6 stages, the event is 6 days x 24 hours. The first stage will start the time the player starts it, the last stage will end 6 x 24 hours later. As stage 01 is normally straight forward and can be completed without an upgrade or service, it can be started late in the day, it doesn't matter if stage 01 isn't completed the first day, it can continued the following day. Stage 02, will automatically unlock at midnight, but can only be raced once stage 01 is complete. Stage 03 will unlock at midnight the following day, and so on up to stage 6. In total there will be 6 x 24 hours = 144 hours to complete all stages.

For example:

Start Monday @ 7:30 PM the event will end 6 days x 24 hours later, Sunday @ 7:30 PM,

You need to choose the best time for you to start Rennsport Redefined (v7.3.5) event, or more importantly when is the best time for you to end the event!

RR3 Michael P wrote (pre-race tip):
I wouldn't recommend starting the event on the first day, Tue May 30, as many racers, who start as soon as the event opens, complain about bugs, which FM then fix! Instead leave the start a day or two and let other people do the bug testing. Also the tips and details can be filled in by the early adopters, so starting a day or two later gives a better heads up.

Ideally, for racers who are busy Monday to Friday and have the weekend free, the best day and time to start is as late as possible Monday, as long as it's before midnight, meaning stage 6 of the event can be completed over two days, the following Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately is a short time to start this event! It is only open for 1 week, as the next special event is expected Sunday June 11. Keep an eye out for adverts to start the event and watch for a countdown to start. Once started the event can be run, even if it's closed to new racers.

FAQ[]

How can I service the car when I already finished the day?[]

If the final car service is missed, after the final event on the day, the soonest it can service is at midnight (local time), when the next stage opens.

When is the last time I can start this Event?[]

Edit: Last entry time is midnight June 6.

The way FM display the date isn't very clear, they use a rounding factor. The days and hours remaining, to start, is changing at mid day or on the half hour. The closing date and time displayed is a cautious closing date and time. Keep an eye out for adverts to start the event and watch for a countdown to start. Once started the event can be run, even if it's closed to new racers.

Will this event be added to the race career?[]

FM went though a spell of adding special events to the racing career, the last time a special event was added was September 2015 v3.6, NASCAR Academy was added directly to the NASCAR career, without previously being released as a Time Limited Event (TLE). Previous to that was April 2015 v3.3, with Redline: Origins and MotorFiesta 1. It is therefore unlikely this event will be added to the racing career.

Will the car be available to win in the future?[]

The PORSCHE 911 RSR (2017) is available to win if the challenge is completed in 6 days, after June 5 the PORSCHE 911 RSR (2017) can be purchased.

Can I buy the car?[]

The PORSCHE 911 RSR (2017) is available in one series:

This vehicle can be acquired for 680 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted or 544 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted with showcase discount.

Quote Natalia
You have been lent a PORSCHE 911 RSR (2017).

All upgrades, customizations and VIP will remain on the car permanently, whether you acquire it from this event or buy it later

What is the minimum PR / upgrades required[]

!  This section needs updating once the upgrade requirements are known  !

RR3 Michael P wrote (pre-race):
Since Generations, if the players car is far below the recommended PR level the bots run impossible times. Once the car is upgraded the bots return to normal times. Slowing the bots works, only when the PR requirements are close. Some goals have fixed top bots. Possible upgrade strategies:

Just a quick PR calculation assuming FM is following a standard deviation from day to day:

  • Day 3 = 83.2 Diffenence 1.8
  • Day 4 = 84.47 Differnce 1.27
  • Day 5 = 85.37 Difference .90
  • Day 6 = 86.01

Of course future PRs are clearly conjecture- I haven't seen anyone elses speculation, nor have I calculated what GC would cost to meet that PR?
