  • Given the number of people who seem to be quitting and uninstalling lately (I've threatened to do it a number of times recently but haven't quite been pushed over the edge). I thought it was time we had a wall of remembrance. Feel free to post here drivers presumed missing in action due to lack of activity or your own grievances about why you are quitting.

There will be no penalties for not actually quitting of course and you are free to update your posts at any time in the future :-D

    • NASCAR update was was the worst, cant turn right anymore. FrontRunner was a joke. Bits of racing fun now and then not worth hours of farming (bot bashing). TSM is a farce. In app ad watching  became tedious, worst than television. Having played various pc racing sims over the last 15 years or so, most were fun but never a chore that you come to dread, I save that torture for work, not play. There is a good game in RR3 somewhere, I guess I never found it. Keep your real cars paintside up and happy racing, Hongoloyd.

    • I actually quited after Front-Runner, mainly because of Norm. And I didn't had any plans to go back to the game. After that event made me go full AVGN, I decided to leave. My device's screen is already cracked, so it was the best to not risk losing my tablet should him, or Ahmed, decide to hit the track one again.

But when I saw how many ACTUAL racing cars were in this update, which is exactly what I want from this game, I decided to give it a go. And I'm not disappointed, apart from not being able to slow bots in these events, I don't mind dumping gold on those cars. And I also got two LMP1 for a really nice discount, so yeah, apart from the pussycat, this update delivered some really nice RACING cars to my garage.

I'm expecting more rubbish hypercars in this game, and I'll think twice before entering such events. Since I'm back at the game, I guess I'll at least dedicate some time on my career.

    • For me Le Mans: Legens was a alst nail in the coffing for RR3.

It started to take too much of time with all of those special events. I will still keep the game and play it from time to time, but no more special events. Game should be fun, not a chore playing for hours to beat some crazy target with no off travk and bots hitting you and so on...

Btw im at level 147, have 145 cars and 1.2k gold

    • I've been pondering for the last few months about quitting RR3 and always have pulled back to it. Now, I do not think I will come back to it.This needed to happen, got saturated and with these greedy monkey business, I' ll be happy I quit.

To tell you the truth, I had this comment written a month or two ago, addressing the same issue in a slightly different form and words, but I was (un)lucky my session expired and could not post a comment. Consequently, I lost the mile-long comment and because I was so p*ssed because of that, haven't written anything until today.

I honestly don't have motivation to get back to RR3. With all of the recent updates, it made me think what would happen if I did not participate in the gauntlets, special timed events and whatnot. The answer was, and is, I would not play the freaking game! I don't want to farm 4 lapper with F40 nor 7 lapper with Nismo. I do not want to sacrifice more time to earn money in order to upgrade Fusion to get 150GC. OMP was useless from day one, team events are next to obsolete and latest special events even more amplyfied my general boredom with the game.

Only thing that kept me going was WTT. But even with WTT results I am asking myself do I really need that 100GC more? What will I need it for? I reached the end of the game, with still quite a few of series to complete, but have driven all my favourite cars back and fourth, fully upgraded most of them, played smart and amassed a nice amount of GC along the way...And now, now I am hoarding those GC eventhough I have a plenty of them (always around 3000GC).

I will try and force myself to finish the 488GTE event, get those 150GC from finishing Fusion event. And lastly, my greatest wish and final approval for me to quit is to be #1 at Circuit de La Sarthe with BMW 3.0 CSL. As of moment of writing, I am global #2, some 0.26s shy of my friend and rival HCDrue. That would be a swansong for me!

I firmly believe why I sticked with the game was because of this and one more community I am a part of. If I was not here on daily basis reading and occassionally posting and contributing, my interest for the game would fade away much much quicker. Elpreciado, Guillejarque, Seosan Seo, Mr.Procrastinator, ME7, UGO2SLO, Na299, RR3G'hamO,  RR3SeanR, AlainD974 in no specific order, all of you and many more who I can't remember (sorry) created and are creating a better and friendlier wikiPeople here who are in charge are fabulous and very productive, as they should be. Big applause to current leaders Romain and Michael, and to former admin Kuzz. One thing Michael P... It is not allot, it is a lot!! ;)

Sad to see you go Lusso.. Bit puzzled as to why not just stick to what you like? Plus once you're at 100% there are many breaks to rest before going into the breach again with new releases..

    • What an amazing, beautiful game. I’ve been addicted from the start. Great graphics, responsive controls, immersive environments, and most of all; it’s fun as hell to play.

Like most post here, the game is becoming a chore. Same humdrum, boring, predictable events and series. Another drag race? REALLY! Problem is, I suck at racing. I’ve won like two cars since playing over 3 years and over 2400 hours, and I’ve only bought 3 cars with gold. I don’t think I’ve ever had a gold stash over 200. Oh boy, another chance to win another Porsche that looks just like the three I already have. Just add this car to the list of cars I will never have enough gold for.  I envy every player here that has the ability to acquire huge amounts of gold. So I suck at racing, I don’t suck at pimping out my rides with some wicked graphics. I spend all my precious gold on vinyls. This is my drug of choice from the monkey dealer.  Sadly though, this too is becoming a chore. Why should I spend 30 gold fairy coins for the same rims I got on my jalopy?....for 4 prissy coins. I think the stock rims are more awesome than the custom ones.

Where’s my incentive! I would gladly pay real $ for better vinyl packages. I would definitely pay for a subscription service. RR is missing out on a lot of $$$$.

I believe the thrill is gone. Oh I’ll continue to play, cuss’  I’m still addicted; but I’m putting the monkey on NOTICE!

      Appreciate the support Elp!

Nice reference to Eagles' song, love them. Reasons are up there, fed up and not so interested as I used to be. And especially not interested in achieving 100%, for it would take me several eras and probably 3 eons to get anywhere near 100%. :)

150 gold coins in my pocket for getting all the sponsors in RPM Fusion cup, finished dreadful 488GTE event. Now my eyes only see the 3.0 CSL TT, but time is not on my side lately. I'll be here lurking but yeah, more or less, this is it.

    • It is now time for me to say goodbye to the monkeys. They are getting ridiculous. It was fun at first, but now just a sloppy mess and more work than fun trying to keep up. Too bad. This game has potential, just wish FM had the same potential. I think they're trying to sink the ship.

    • I played 2,813 hours and reached level 633. Spent a grand total of $5.46 (with tax) to buy the starter pack. I accumulated 41,701 gold. I consistently ranked in the top 5% in the weekly time trials (since they offered 100 gold for it). I owned all 151 cars and was 100% complete heading into the most recent update.

Saw that the weekly time trials reset and just walked away, even though I still have 2,869 gold in reserves. Burned out. Won't be coming back.

No rant. It is a great game. Just became too much work at some point. That point being this week. The thought of doing all four time trials heading into the 4th of July just wasn't appealing.

Perhaps the last straw was offering me 1,019 gold for $19.99 though. It was tempting to pay to take a break from farming. And then it just sort of dawned on me that I could take a permanent break without spending a penny. And here I am, on the Wall of Remembrance. When the thought of taking a break from a game that demands your time sounds good, it's time to leave.

Today was weird. I watched a movie (The Martian) on TV while not simultaneously farming Le Mans. Turns out that it was actually kind of fun. Forgot what that felt like. It's going to take some to adjust! Hahaha! :)

Every game reaches the burnout stage at some point. This one took about 18 months. Not bad. Goodbye.

    • Ok Lusso..

I guess where we perhaps differ is that i just never cared all that much about the game, all in all.. Dont fall in love if you cant suffer the wrath:) So what will be, will be..

Seems the latest release confirms the RR3 targeting people prepared to pay real money, and good on them, no complaints out of me.. I'll always remain in the cheaps seats, without a dime to give, so i fully understand i might be eradicated one way or another:) And certainly cannot criticise.. I would be slighly peed off if i spent $100 somewhere along the way, and these days that not being enough for one car fully upgraded.. Talk about inflation!:)

I will leave in two ways.. In a coffin, banned in some way (like cloud assists in WTTT), or just by having time appart and not really coming back to it.. Will miss visiting here more than the game i reckon..

So i will attempt to keep up the 100%, and then just race what i can afford.. I will never do what Mark above, plus countless others and myself used to do - farm.. It would have to be some super nice F1 for me to do that:) I will just have fun till the show is over and the curtain drops.. EG. My philosophy right now is, "bummer, this update will kill off my gold reservers, but i think it's nice to have some new series and events".. So i will slow paddle it for few weeks, some fun, rinse and repeat in the future as life and interest trickles on:)

I was in RR3 when it first came out, completed it i think, then left it for several years.. There's no goodbyes on the road..

    • The reason I'm not quitting just yet is only that I started in November 2015, thus the game is still new for me. I've done my first huge target, getting to the end of the game, now I will only buy cars I want, and do bonus series I want, I won't really target 100%...

I really disagree with FMs current system, so I won't be bothered by some random FXX K challenges... I want the Type 125, I will win the Type 125. But I won't do a gold-draining special event just because I could do it...

I am playing for fun, I rarely farm, even then I'm listening to music during that, so not multitasking, but now I usually spend more time on the wiki than in the game :D
My gold reserves are low, updates are coming, and the events are dark and full of terrors...

Whatever, soon, I will take a break from online racing, and try it offline. It will be completely different without all this hassle about special events, tournaments, team events, updates...

I've reached the point of enough is enough, it's time to start living life without RR3. I have had a blast the last few years with RR3 and I can't begin to thank all the great folks who have helped contribute to this site, first and foremost thank you Na299 who helped me score some much needed GC, Micheal P and Romain thank you both for all of your tireless work on this site. A special thank you to RR3G'hamO and your (Challenge Thread Boards) it's what kept me interested in this insanity and all the great racers who took part. Thank you RR3DougB for your flying cars, MELR2, Adamoyan, Dietrich Meijer, Elpreciado, Sirebel, Topcon, Lezdur, Rafael F., MegaDriver80Wiki, Astromouse to name a few. Sad to see anyone of the regulars go Larry, but is RR3 really stealing so much from your life? Sure, the overall thrill has gone for me also, but it's not interfering with my life.. It got my heart racing a tad to the see the upcoming Lotus F1 actually.. Im sure HamO will add a new category and we'll have some fun:)

Save some of that hoard i reckon, and just take a break, or just win the event cars and put the rest on the backburner.. It is still graphically a great game, we spent nothing, gained lot of pleasure.. A path of least resistance might be to give up now that "things are too hard" (for whatever individual reasons), but lets keep things in perspective..

But if the game interferes in real life, that is fair enough.. Yet, i also believe even that can be adjusted and compromises made.. Just my 2 cents worths..

PS: I am not an employee of FM, or any affiliates:)

I can't see the distance markers. Fortunately, iPad is now charging again and limping along. Might be the deciding factor in me quiting though.

    • I left the game after Track Day Domination, just to take a rest and see if they could change the game, in order to improve the simulation factor, to make the game better. Lads, if you really want a RACING GAME, you could go to iRacing, rFactor or RaceRoom Racing Experience. Or try some F1 game. This is kind of an arcade game, I used to compare it to Mario Kart with my real-life friends, they come to play Mario Kart, and they say, ooh, where is the track going to? And the same on RR3. This wiki has been part of the comeback, I was always looking at the growing community. And yes, thank you community that keeps me playing this great game, cheers to Michael and Romain for the build-up.

PS: Will the Brexit affect a possible in-game appearance of the GP Circuit of Brands Hatch? Or Donington? Who knows? London ePrix takes place today in London, hope they get into the game

    • I'm going to restart the game and see how it goes after completing 50% Vertex Series. Only 1 car in my remaining career (RS.01) costs R$. I can't afford the others since I have only 860 gold. I started playing RR3 from day 1, but I never played it regularly. When the game came out, it had only 4 gold cars. Now it has about 70 gold cars. 65 gold for the 12C, but 300 gold for the 12C Spider? Insane...

One way the monkeys could have repayed older racers is by giving them back gold lost by leveling up. Back in the days each level up gave only 3 gold. The new system came along only when I was in level 90. So I lost a lot of gold in that way.

        Loading editor
    • While I am not quiting the game, but I am marking the passing of my second major goal (unless something changes radically in what FM puts in an update) and thus my major driver that kept me playing. The first was to open all series - which I did achieve, the second get 100% of the cars. I started RR3 one year ago and thought I might get there and at first is looked doable with a couple of new cars each release that you could really win for "Free", well for time played at least.

But around the new year, with the second NASCAR release , it looked a bit dodgy but I pushed on (To salve the pain I bought the TS040 during its showcase). The Venom release was very painful. I spent way to much on that car (and it still handles like its permenantly aquaplaning) than I wanted to and then the bugger went on sale for less than I'd invested in it! Still I thought I might get there and so during the last release (Le Mans 2016) I worked my way through special events to get the new cars and also picked up the Ferrari F14 T and thought I might just make it as I now have all of the most expensive cars - the next on the lisst was LaFerrari. (There are a lot of Ferrari's on that list!)

That hope, however, has died with No Compromise. It has become clear that to get the car I am going to have to pay out more GC that I'll be bringing in over the time of the event (including the "bonuses" from re-running the Time Trials that were reset) and I see no clear reason to expect this to get better (a look at Gold, Gold and More Gold shows the extent of the problem). And if that is the case I now have to choose getting the new cars (which will eventually empty what's left of my gold reserves) or writing them off and finishing up the list of cars I had to get before this release came out.

In either case, while I can have more fun now that I'm not driving to get 100% it also means I'm not going to be motived to play as much. But as a non-paying player I'm sure FM will not mind and that is the cost I have to bear.

        Loading editor
    • addendum : Given the stupidity of Goal 7.3 in No Compromise were the winner is posting times I can not beat even without going off-track for 30 seconds and that time is 9 seconds less than what others are reporting and loosing does not make that time change, it is clear that Special Events are not going ot be much good to me. Thus I am going to pretent this last update never happend, finish up getting the cars and then I'm out of here. Done and Dusted.

    • Lusso thanks for the kind words. It's sad to see you and the others here are quitting the game.

I quit the special events because I felt like a trained seal performing for fm/ea's entertainment. I'm so tired of the continuous repetition of the series. The same s**t diffrent series. The constant fiddling with the physics of the game by fm sucks. Racing off line the bots take you out. Racing online the teams players block or take you out (not all teams just certain ones). This is nowhere near close to real racing.

So this will be my last time to 100%. Having a real race car needs more of my time than the game. I'm not going to uninstall it rather I'll race once in awhile and get the cars I like (not   A$$car). I will still follow this wiki it's great. And thanks to everyone here you've all been great.

        Loading editor
    • i haven't quit...yet. but i won't be doing any more challenges. i haven't actually done very many of them, Le Mans Legends reminded me of why. prior to this i don't think i've spent more than 100GC (combined) to win challenge cars. I bit off this latest one because A) I knew it was the last time i'd have the time to do so, and b) i was excited by the prospect of the long races. but it wore me out and now, not only do i dislike the challenge format, i don't want to race Le Mans anymore. it's a chore, even on 100% fame days.

BUT...GTE Pro cars on SPA are a blast.

i have reached the point where all the GC cars i'd be interested in are unlocked, so i'll wait and get them if the come on sale. my interest in the game now is to have a variety of cars i can race on a variety of tracks and to see if i can get good enough to get my name on some of the leaderboards in this forum

    • I have just deleted my account with PR 96 Ferrari FXXR in 6/8 stages of this event, I have deleted my save, the game, everything. Thanks to EA/FM policy I am out of this circuis.

I have done 200 levels, 4300 GOLD left in account and a cost of 1500 GOLD for cars I do not have without discounts, so at least I achieved 100% cars ... and 92% series.

It just takes too much time, there are far better things to do in life then playing same events over and over again with different cars or watching endless ads just to make an upgrade.

This game is just about slowing bots, You slow the bots down in events to have easier goals to achieve while racing should be about challange ... then after wining the car you again 'control/slow' the bots in regular series to make sure you will complete the series to 100% without any issues like DRAG RACE in last event with overpowered bots ...

Gentleman, playing this game with You was a pleasure.

Good luck, farewell and have fun!

Names such as User:LussoBerlinetta, User:Lancia Stratos and User:Larry8185 will be missed - especially from the Challenge Thread leaderboards! I can understand why people are ceasing playing - I have just abandoned my long-standing goal of achieving 100% completion. Pros: Loads - we love it. Addictive, great cars, gameplay etc etc

Cons: Firemonkeys Gold requirements Gold ad situation Firemonkeys File size of game Chaotic ordering of stuff now in game Firemonkeys

I will not be doing: Challenges requiring gold NASCAR purchases Buying last few cars Completing series that are too costly Spending money on game (it has been a lot!)

I will be doing: Time trials Playing friends Enjoying game

After nearly 1 year I have met my own goals of beating friends and family who have been playing for 3 years, getting most of the cars in the game and getting past level 200.

I will keep dipping into the wiki and will be able to post pictures again when new laptop arrives :) keep up the great community - it's just a shame that FM never listen and are not customer focussed.

    • Situation never better, but still a little blue.

. Have been going for all cars since beginning. Goal was over 14.000 Icon Gold away when I started realizing the mechanics of the game.

. Planned all moves carefully, always nudging closer and closer to the goal. Average 1,5 h per day with peaks of 8 hours on double farm WE's.

. Gameplay improved over time without reaching the top driver levels of some.

. Reached all cars june 25th, and since then I keep up with updates; 100% out of reach for me time- and money-wise.

. @ the moment all cars in garage and 1.400 Icon Gold in stock; 200 - 300 more possible before next update.

Found additional dimensions in this Wiki.... Soooo...

Not yet ready for the wall.

    • I was on the verge of quitting due to FM's treatment of customers who made IAP's. I am one of those people and lost over 11,000 Gold so far over the time ive been playing. The only thing that has kept me in the last month or so has been the TT reset, and opportunity to recover at least a small portion of that. FM has soured me on ever giving any of my money to another app developer, no matter how much I might like what they do. Bottom line; when my gold is gone, so am I.

        Loading editor
    • RandyMc I think your point is a very valid one about making you cautious about spending money on IAP again. I posted in my google review that people shouldn't make IAP's in this app which I would have thought would get their attention. Maybe if we make other app developers aware that it is damaging their market they will put pressure of EA.

        Loading editor
    • Sirebel, I had thought of notifying some developers to see what their response would be. I also posted on here a while back we could contact the advertisers and let them know FM is restricting their exposure if we buy anything. A few friends of mine, one in the support industry, and one in law, said try to get a class action law suit going against them. The other things like bans for no reason, missing cars, gold, etc., Without reimbursement might help make a good case, not to mention the biggest issue, ads. So it seems there are about a half dozen things we could try, including support tickets, reviews, Facebook, and any other avenue to reach people. I had also thought about buying vynils for some of my cars and write NO IAP's all over them, but I'm not sure they would really be seen. What do you think?

As for the reasons why… To cut a long story short (for the director’s cut, I’ve written it down on a blog, just didn’t want to spam the page, especially as I don’t think many people will be interested :P), the whole experience is just taking up more and more of my time and it’s not a viable lifestyle. I have really enjoyed helping everyone here and if this could be a job for me (even a low-paying one), I’d probably jump at the chance. But that’s not a possibility :/ I feel like I know a huge amount about the game and Wiki, but it’s not useful outside the recreational sphere and most of what I’ve learned are non-transferable skills into my university course, meaning the time spent editing or racing is time wasted in terms of studying for a prospective career. As far as why I’m not just choosing to just edit or just race, or not spending as much time doing either, it is down to my character: I can’t half-ar*e! I either have to fully-dedicate my time and effort to something or I don’t touch it whatsoever.

      Video Games

Anyways, my last post will be tomorrow, to collect the year-long achievement, before radio silence. If you have any questions, you have a limited window of time available! Thanks to everyone that’s been here during this time, there are too many names to list! I’m sure others will be happy to see the back of me, still :P As far as whether I’d come back in the event of a potential “fresh start” with a game like “Real Racing 4”, or something of the like (however unlikely it is for FM/EA to drop the iteration for the sake of a sequel):

    • Really sorry to see you go RomGuyony. I wouldn't have got as far as I have without you and RR3 Michael P. I've just been compiling a list of my current garage position and its scary how much gold I wasted on unnecessary upgrades before I found this wiki.

PS. Are you studying IT? If you are then there are jobs you can do that aren't that different to this (though maybe not involving racing cars as well).

    • I think it's time for me to write here too, this time finally ending my relationship with the game, and only occassionally looking up the wiki. I just looked at my contributions and I realized that I haven't contributed in 5 days, without any specific reasons. I lost interest in the game in the past week, mainly because I found another game now that takes up most of my free time, and partially because only bonus series remain for me now, and I'm not really interested in them, knowing that reaching 100% is not possible.

So, as a newfound admin, I am uninstalling the game, thus making my admin life the shortest out of every admin so far (I think, correct me if I'm wrong) on this wiki. This wiki community is great, and incredibly active, I sometimes spent more time on the wiki per day than in the game itself. It was a pleasure to meet you all. Sorry for letting Michael and G'hamO down, but I lost my interest in the game, so I wouldn't be able to participate here as an admin now that the game is of no interest. I hope you will still manage :/

      So, with this letdown,

This is RR3xyz, last survivor of the Nostromo, signing off.

I'm sorry for telling you before you went away that your place in the team would be safe, only to return to find that it wasn't

It was great racing your TSM and had good times while you was in the team, farewell my friend, I'll keep you in contacts on FB so we can still chatter

    • Gotta answer these :D

      1) It was independent of the team, I felt myself that I wasn't obliged enough for the team, so it's not your fault.

      2) That FB account was created specifically for RR3, so I don't think I'll look at it often.

Anyway, good luck in the team and on the wiki :)

This is the EA/FM employee who had to go in on the weekend to fix Samsung's Stage 10/11.

I forgot to cloud save my game, and I had also just bought my first Porsche, the 911 GT3 RS, for roughly 172k R$. You cannot imagine how long it took me to get that. I mean, I could have bought it easily before, about a year ago, because I had over 500,000 R$ at only about level 20, but I spent it on now-useless upgrades for stock road cars that are of no use now (I have moved on to the sports car group, currently with a number of sports cars like the Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupe, Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Ford GT, McLaren MP4-12C, etc.) I have also fully completed Pure Stock Challenge and Road Car International. I really hope I don't have to start over from the beginning if I get to play the game again.

The game auto saves every 12 hours or so, so as long as you sign back in on a new device, the most you should lose is 12 hours of progress.

If we continue to play maybe we are. 3,000+ hrs played, 20,000+ races, r$ 365,000,000+, 7,000 gc, level 600, 250,000+ miles raced all gone. Don't take this from the f monkeys. Say no more bs.

I've stopped playing my second game, but it only has a few hundred gold and just under 2 mil R$. My main has almost 3500 GC, so I'll keep going til it runs out. Funny thing is, I said that months ago, and somehow my gold keeps increasing....

But I'm also betting you have elite driver status. So even though the ads aren't working out right now, you're still better of than all of us who had our ads taken years ago for IAP's.

I fully understand if newbies quit playing now. No elite, no chance of WTTT income, and now not many ads, but higher level players still have access to other sources of gold.

To add insult to injury, these are supposed to be the "supercheap" cars.

I'm starting to firmly believe that the monkeys want us all out. That, or they have put an apprentice fully in charge of pricing with no supervision whatsoever.

"Supercheap Auto" has nothing to do with the price of the cars. It is just the current sponsor's name of the real-life Bathurst 100. (They are a car parts, tools and accessories retail chain.)

I know, but it's somehow telling that they chose this event to tighten the GC bolts yet again to force users to spend more hard-earned coins while they reduce the daily free GC ads to a meager, pitiful, ridiculous, insulting number of just two.

        Loading editor
    • It would not have made any difference who sponsored the event, the price keeps going up for lower PR cars, 928 Gold to fully upgrade to 64.1 is just putting a neon light over the exit door

I hope they bring something at least half affordable but more importantly they need something enjoyable in this rat race

        Loading editor
    • Me too. I've been racing for two and a half years, am an old pensioner, level 275/elite, and have previously enjoyed the escape into RR3, but it's now become too repetitious, and dare I say tedious, and not necessarily enjoyable. I like to race on my own, no teams, or friends, just for the fun of it - but together with 9yr grandson, and letting him win! WTTT used to be good fun too, where I could be a regular C every week, but that now seems largely unattainable without fully upgraded cars in every event - far too expensive. How can so many have so much gold? RR3 lost its way when the competitions were introduced on such a regular basis (seems like fortnightly at present (it was far better when they were occasional). The game was far more enjoyable when one could just progress from level to level in your own time and save up for the next vehicle, with no need to log in for another day's set of contrived events on the same tracks as we've all driven for so long, and watching tedious adverts about dreadful games to bring the car back to life. Boring. I guess the underlying reasons are that there are players out there who pay real money for GC so that they can upgrade to win cars, and that advertisers are paying for space through the evidence of the number of 'clicks' that FM can demonstrate players are watching. I don't begrudge them making real money, as it's essential for the business (and there are lot of people listed as being responsible for the game), but I think reading all the above comments FM may be missing the fact that they are killing the golden goose. One would like to hope that someone in FM keeps and eye on this board and will take action, but I suspect not. So yes, I am likely to fade away, and leave my name on this wall, but at least there is life beyond this particular grave!

I'm Alive! Not only did I make hay whilst the double fame weekend shined but I've also had more free gold than usual from ads and being elite. I'm on target to get all the cars and I have almost recovered my gold position after a disasterous Ford and Holden showing. I'm even considering upgrading the Regera before the end of the update to push my completion stats up.

Being back in a race team certainly makes a difference because whilst it is not more efficient than farming, it is a lot more fun.

    • Hello everyone, I think it's time for me to add my name to this list too. I'm not quitting because of farming overly, or being annoyed due to a stupid thing known as PR. I'm currently at level 73, having 1.1 million R$icon and 44 Icon Gold(the reasons for this calamity I'll explain later. This is officially and unofficially the third time that I'd threatened myself to quit this 'game'. The first one was all the way back during the Tour Auto Speciale event where I couldn't win an event and got frustrated and put up a bunch of upgrades. But I just couldn't push myself over the edge, so naturally I resorted to giving myself a second chance. The second one happened during the Supercars event where I'd freshly spent some 200 Icon Gold to skip challenges. Ironically, the next challenge was also pretty hard so I ended up clearing up my local save. But the next time I opened the game I couldn't resist it and downloaded my old profile containing 219 Icon Gold and was determined to start anew. Now the final time was yesterday when I was racing the MP4-X event with 1321111 worth of upgrades. Others had done it with this much, so why can't I? Turns out, in 8.1 as my PR was way below the reccomended PR so naturally the bots were as fast as Hel. After trying it out for some 15 times, I finally gave up and boom! Most of you guys would've just said that skip the event, but I didn't have enough Icon Gold to even skip the event. That's the end of my story.

Also, thanks Sirebel, Agwater, RandyMC, Boomshanka, ME7, Astromouse, RR3 Master Racer, Clsj35, Admins and other members of the Wiki who were very helpful. I wish luck to Racer KCain for his YouTube channel and thanks to G'hamo also, the closest an admin could ever be. I'll miss ya guys a lot, dunno if y'all will. Months later, a wrong spending strategy made me lose the Lotus Type 125.

    • Yeah, it's time.... after 72 hours with only a single 10 lapper run when normally I would have put in a solid 18 hours of racing durring the same time frame, it's obvious that what they say is true... every good thing must come to an end.

So it is with me an RR3... level 358 - R$71,665,674 - 774GC - 156 of 167 cars (88 FU) - and it's been a boatload of fun! A rollercoaster ride for sure since Guanlet S4, then all the other glitches and faulty releases up to the recient assist/driving issue combined with FM's actions durring those times has just taken the fun out of the game for me. I'll still play on rare occation... double fame days, events that I want the new car, and the like as the game itself is awesome (and old habbits are hard to break - just being realistic here). But the farming & $ expendetures on GC are over... they've gotten my last nickel.

But we should try to focus on the positive here.... and on a happier note, I'll still be racing - just on my xBox One & Thrustmaster 458 Spider Steering Wheel/Petals playing Forza 6 and F1 2016 (if you thought the mobile F1 2016 game was good... you ought to see the console version!!!!) It's actually brought back exactly what RR3 used to be for me.... fun, challenging, exceptional graphics and car dynamics, oh - did I say fun???? You bet baby!!!!! To me, it's like comparing VHS movies to a Blueray... it's that much better than RR3 guys. So instead of being bitter or anything like that, I'm more than happy at the turn of events. This is my graduation day from RR3 to a much more immersive, realistitic, and authentic sim-driving experience. It has been fun guys, and it's about to get even funner :-)

So cya at the special events when there's a cool car up for grabs... or on double fame days.....

in the meantime.... RadarBob has left the building ;-)

It's a nice idea, but we would still leave only without an announcement or any kind of farewell statements

    • Closing this thread won't make any difference. People will still quit the game, and either not say anything, or post their goodbye somewhere else.

I actually put my name on here once, but then something happened that kept me playing. This last update nearly had me gone again, but then one of the other users helped me with a problem, so again, I'm still here.

I get why some people leave, like Radarbob. If I put that much time into a racing game, I would not put up with this constant stream of glitches either. I really don't spend much time on this game anymore, which i think has lowered the aggravation of the game to a manageable level.

    • I feel the same. If it was just the cars, I'd skip them and keep playing, but they added what I consider to be the worst track they could've picked. Knowing this new crappy track is going to be included in every series added from here on out, is just reinforcing my decision to quit. This game is just not fun anymore. It's a disastrous chore.

    • Economic theory says that everything has its lifetime.

This applies to a game like RR3 as well as to my interest in playing it. I knew that the moment will come to say Goodbye and I felt it drawing closer since the last 2 or 3 updates. I am not leaving in anger or frustration as I read from some here. It is just time. This game sucks too much of my time. One cannot keep up with the updates without spending a least two hours per day. I have been playing for 22 months now and I have reached level 217 owning all available cars with a total Garage value of 429 Mio. I never bought GC and I still have around 3800 left.

In my opinion RR3 is coming to an end of life point soon. FM tries to expand that with some add-ons like Exclusive Series, new tracks, cars like MP4-X or the long awaited Formula E. But the game has some conceptual problems like the lack of real new play modes (unfortunately Exclusive Series is just more of the same), or the problem that it becomes more and more difficult to enter for new players. The game is getting older and so are its players (and even the cars in the game). But one of the main problems is, you cannot decide by your own how often you want to play and how much time you are ready to invest without losing track (that was better in the beginning when special events were added to the game series later on). The game doesn’t need any more cars. It needs regular challenges. That’s why I started to like WTTTs so much. There you have a challenge every week and you are free to skip it without losing progress.

I had a lot of fun and feel a strong addiction. Cold turkey will hit me the next days, maybe weeks. But perhaps even more than the game I will miss this Wiki where I found great tips, interesting people and last but not least it provided a nice platform to practice my English.

Thanks to you all guys! Especially to the admins and faithful long-term contributors.

      Race on!

    • I've never been a massive Real Racing player, I would consider myself casual, unlike many of the people on this wiki. but regardless, I do feel the need to quit for good.

I have always been willing to put up with and defend the business practices of Firemonkeys studios. Exorborant price tags, insanely hard special events, and crappy rewards have all been justifyable decisions. But these R3 edition cars are not. Those are just lazy design and when I called them out on it on their Facebook page, they blocked me.

So I'm done with this game. For good. I have better things to do and better things to play than a game that consisently manges to dissappoint.

The only safe way to talk to them on Facebook is with a picture of car and kind words, they reply well when complimented

    • In response to the last two posts;

Jackimo, I applaud you for finally taking a stand. When I first started playing (but before I found this wiki), I pretty much felt the same about the monkeys. But I soon learned they were very backhanded and dishonest in their business practices. What they did to me will forever prevent me from handing over any more of my money to them.

RR3G; it doesn't matter to me where they are getting their ideas. They went off the reservation when they added the MP4-X. If they keep adding fictional cars, they should rename the game, and let us use fictional money to play.

And are they taking a cue out of the world of snowflakes? Is their Facebook page ONLY for those who bless, and agree with them? How is that healthy for anyone?

An honest and open dialogue from both sides is the best way to continue a healthy business/customer relationship. Treating players, and especially paying customers like the enemy, is a sure way of losing them.

As for myself, I will play, as long as I can, in an effort to get to the point I feel I'm getting something resembling a fair return on money's spent. If that point can't be reached, them I'm out.

    • I think the Facebook page may well be in snowflake land (probably got taken over by Disney) I've only ever got a response when I was polite

Kind of how a salesman would pull people in off the street as they walked by, inticing them with good things then when you have a grip you can unleash the problem on them

The difference is that Horizon edition cars are:

      A) Not identical to the original car apart from the livery

      B) Can be sold for ludicrous amounts amount of money via in the game auction house or if you win a second one. I sold one for 600 000 credits and they're worth 5mil if by the luck of the devil you manage to win a duplicate.

      C) Have extra rewards advertised upfront instead of after you obtain the car

      and most importantly

      D) ARE FREE

If R3 cars were awarded for levelling up, had custom parts fitted and had it advertised that they had bonuses from the outset, I wouldn't be complaining. But they are making a car once and selling it twice, which is just plain greedy.

        Loading editor
    • I don't play Forza Horizon, so correct me if I'm wrong, but Horizon edition cars can only be obtained by buying them from the Auction House or winning them through Wheelspins. So you still have to spend time farming credits or XP.

If that's the case, then it's no different from getting an R3 Spec car for 'free' by farming fame to level up in Real Racing.

    • This release should be very close to Icon Gold neutral or even positive,

      • 478 GC : huracan -1 drivetrain for 80.1
      • 26 GC : megane -1 body for 35.1
      • 299 GC : shelby -2 engine for 71.3
      • 55 GC : mercedes -2 engine for 48.0
      • 217 GC : Vantage V12 FU
      • ~1,075 Icon Gold to upgrade the five cars,

      • -400 Icon Gold for group B WTTT,
      • -280 from 10 Icon Gold ads / day,
      • -rewards from 5 LTS
      • -rewards from 4 new series
      • -team Icon Gold
      • -level up / farming.

This release may actually pay up!

        Loading editor
    • I agree; if one makes RR3 his unpaid full-time job, running EK or EC for 1 or 2 hours a day to level up, then playing team events for 24 hours in a row to make it to the gold-earning positions, plus running the LTS and watching the ads, then yes, it pays off.

But then 1) the player must have very wealthy parents (some of us rather have jobs and families to look after, and even a dog), 2) got to marry a very rich widow, 3) won the lottery jackpot, or 4) lives out of public allowances. And whichever of these 4 options comes with a non-existing social life.

I won't complain since my GC account was left with just under 1.4K after the Christmas sales and now it's back to 2.3K, but the ever-increasing time investment that FM demands from the players is a toll that not many can afford.

You've actually got me there. You're right, in a way, it is no different. But there are three keys points that have to be mentioned.

Firstly, trueachievements.com tracks how many gamers signed up have any given achievement, including the one for winning a Horizon Edition car. According to them, only 8% of gamers reach level 20 without winning a HE car. I'm pretty sure that the gold gained from reaching level 20 in RR3 would never in a million years be enough to net anyone an R3 car

Secondly, you can complete the game to 100% without ever driving a HE car. You do have to win one, but as I previously mentioned, the chances of you not winning one are miniscule. Forza Horizon 3 sort of has the opposite problem to RR3, in that way, giving players too much freedom but I digress.

Thirdly, it's been calculated that for every 5 mil you put into the wheelspin feature, you get 2-3 Horizon Edition cars, equating to 10-15 mil in credits. This is way more profitable and faster than farming Le Mans.

Finally, the auction house, by nature, has variable prices, depending on supply and demand. In RR3, the only way to get that car is the pay that price.

For every bit of gold put into an R3 car, there's one less gold that's going towards other things, but Forza gives so much flexibity that it can't really be said for Horizon edition cars

        Loading editor
    • A lot of people don't have access to the huge winnings in WTTT, teams, and that much time to farm. Normally when some says an upgrade is gold neutral, it implies you can win back your investment on that car, just from using that car. If you add all that other stuff in, every update could be GC neutral.

The game is always changing, but it's not getting more fun, or exciting. There's just more cars to get bored with.

I've been very polite to them. Never got a response. This summer, they stopped replying to me support tickets. Still have two going on at least five months with no response.

        Loading editor
    • Updates are rarely gold neutral. In the last two years we have only had two sub 1000 gold updates and these were before the introduction of elite racing bonuses and all sorts of opportunities to gain gold that weren't there then. This update is going to be sub 1000 net gold and whilst this might not be gold neutral for all players it will be significantly cheaper than previous updates. It's a good opportunity to farm and make up some lost ground.

Someone once said, "depressed people depress people". So if people are burned out on racing, others won't feel encouraged. I'm not slamming people who are burned out, just won't find motivation to race in this thread. Who feels good after going to a funeral??? Kind of a weird thread honestly. I don't read obituaries, but it seems like people do once they reach a certain age.

Completing the game is an empty accomplishment. I've done it twice, but it only lasted a few days. A new update comes out and blam... gotta catch up again. So I don't chase that anymore. Now I win cars with a low amount of gold, then wait for an upgrade sale. I use that experience to try and help other racers in their quest to win with few upgrades. Except for most Gauntlets. I want to enjoy those so I usually fully upgrade!

No assist driving has made the game a lot more fun. Now I drift around when I'm in the lead, or spin around on a straight, drive backwards for a bit, then whip around again.

Mastering the Porsche Endurance race was fun for a while. but now it's a bit of a grind, just like Le Mans became. Although getting around 1,200,000 fame for 1 race in the double fame weekend was exciting! It does allow me to level up on every bonus fame day if I put in the time.

Finding out that the MP4-X can go over 100 km at Le Mans got me excited again. So that's a new thing to master.

Giving of the knowledge that I've gained, trying to help other racers helps me to feel better about my big time investment in RR3.

    • Today i end up a great period of gaming time(despite many crashdowns). 400h + of driving the fastest and most expensive cars in the world on real circuits. I can't remember any game which i've played longer.

Anyway it's really time consuming and there is a lack of goals to achieve at the end of the last career series. 100 % is not realistic. Improving drive skills is nice but not necessary. Special events are more and more about just spending gold and time.

So i used my anger over the gauntled (12) as trigger to uninstall the game(-->Unreachable speed snap goals during the first boss challenge in the second run... That's kind of annoying because, if i had known that i would have upgraded in the first run.)

Time to thank all who contribute to this wiki. Helped me a lot.

    • It is time for me to say goodbye. As others have said on this thread, RR3 is the game I have played more than most others. It did quite well at the balance between boring and too difficult. Well, I will say using this wikia with playing RR3, did that, for me.

I don't recall when I started playing the game, but it was around three years ago. I slogged in the career some and tried some special events, but didn't get anywhere in them. As with other games, when I hit a wall, I would look for strategy sites online for tips on how to play better. When I did this with RR3, first I found YouTube videos, then around December 2015, I found this wikia. Using the videos I found and information on the wiki, which I found surprisingly current with the changes in the game, I found myself improving my driving and my results.

Then in January 2016, I uploaded my first gameplay videos to my own YouTube channel. The two channels I'd been watching, Guru and Sick Racer had styles that were different than how I wanted to play. Guru spent more of the resources early and Sick wanted to crash everyone, more than I did. So, I felt there was room for a different style to be represented on YouTube.

My most popular video came in the McLaren MP4-X series. It got over 2100 views! By comparison, though, Guru's videos were getting over 22K views and Sick's around 12K views.

Some of the reason I started playing RR3 and other games was, I needed something to enjoy with free time I had. Lately, I've found other pursuits to do that. I've been maintaining some racing for the last several months, but not with the enthusiasm I had before. So, the 2015 Nismo was something I'd wanted for a while - not that particular car, but a car I could run on the 10 lappers at Le Mans. I won the car, but all along I wondered if I really wanted the opportunity to race for 30 minutes to move the driver level. Well, I got the car and now, I have less time to race it, so I suppose if I ever want to pick it back up, I can, and I will have that, but right now, I'm not that interested in doing so. I thought I'd go for one more, after that Nismo, but when FM came out with 'retro' LM cars, I was disappointed. I tried making the 2017 RSR my final car win, but the frustration over some of the events just got to me too much.

I will say my frustration is over a combination of FM setting the parameters, my expectation of completing each goal with less PR than recommended, and my driving expertise level, which is developed, to a certain degree, but not enough. In Stage 4 or 5 of 6, I was disgusted with the whole situation when I couldn't complete one of the difficult goals with out having my PR at the recommended level. I really tried to finish, but 6.3 got to me. I didn't need the car, I didn't need to spend the gold and I realized I didn't need to play the game, either.

So, I'm off. I'm going to enjoy my other pursuits and not try to keep RR3 progress going, too.

I had a lot of fun in the time I've been racing, contributing to this wikia and uploading gameplay videos, but the time for the end has come, for me.

Accomplishments I enjoyed over the last few years include NASCAR, the Sesto Elemento, the Regera, I really love the Corvette C7.R, 2 Le Mans GTE cars, the Lotus Type 125, the McLaren MP4-X and lately, the Lambo Centenario and the 2015 Nismo.

I thank everyone who contributed to this wikia. It really helped me enjoy RR3 much more than I ever would have on my own. Thank you to all who viewed my videos. They are still available to view. I think it would be too much work to take them all down! Some of the ones that might help even with future events are the ones I did on learning a new track, or how to take different turns in the game. After I did those, I realized I needed to add a turn type. Maybe I'll do that one day.

Anyway, remember, there is an old saying Shallow men believe in luck, Strong men believe in Cause and Effect. I have tried to represent a voice of reason in the face of much blaming of FM for poor programming or many other mistakes, especially when those blaming FM feel they are intentionally doing things to upset them. Above, I stated that it seemed to me that FM did well at the balance that a great game needs, between being too easy and too difficult. Enjoy the game, Enjoy the wikia, Enjoy the recorded gameplay that can be found out there. If you aren't enjoying it enough, say goodbye.

      Goodbye racers.

    • Good luck on your new journey GH. Having spent many hours in GT5, I think you will come to enjoy it far more than RR3 and you will soon realize just how messed up RR3 is when compared to other games. If you have not yet found the GT Planet forums, make sure to check them out. Here is the link and good luck! https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/board/gran-turismo-5.156/

    • I know I have already twice said that I will leave the game, but I always returned, mainly due to compulsion. The old tablet was a 4.2 Android with just RR3 and CSR being compatible . I soon got bored of CSR and had to play RR3 to keep myself happy.

Well, that old thing is dead now. Good riddance. I bet RR3 tortured it. My father has bought an iPad (2017) and I just downloaded RR3 to test the graphics. And it was awesome. Might do a few customizations on that.

My father has told me that he will buy a new tablet (Micromax I think) with Android 6.0 or higher. So many awesome games will become compatible (CSR 2, Gear Club) and I think I'll be leaving RR3.

Anyways, I will always be posting on here. As I consider myself to be experienced

      Another friend going away...

      Best wishes, RR3 Master Racer!

That is just about everybody on here.  For some reason nobody appreciates the game and picks apart it's every flaw.  I think they forget they got this game for FREE!!!

I agree. I really enjoy RR3. It has its quirks, but so do I.

    • Oh man, I go a away for a week and this happens!  You will be greatly missed, G'H.  I appreciate all the efforts you have put in, especially for the challenge boards which, IMO, are the best part of the game.  I'll miss chasing your ghosts around in WTTt as well.

    • None of you may know me, mainly because i don't have a account. But i've decided that after 1 year on this game, it's time to say goodbye to this game. I never spent any money on it and that's pretty impressive to myself, i just think that the game gets too repitive after like 5 categories. Also those stupid win-a-free-car events which i have only won once due to me being F2P, i just feel like EA made the game too P2W. The TSM also sucks because it's not accurate.

But now onto some positives. Call me dirty for this, but i actually liked to spin out other racers just for fun. It was entertaining to me and was pretty much the only thing that kept me going with this game. I also think the graphics are amazing for a mobile game and the realism that games like Asphalt 8 (a game i tried but got bored of after like 3 races) will never have.

Welp, now it's time to say goodbye to this game. I made it to Zenith Series and i'm proud of myself for that achievement. I can no longer tolerate the P2W features of this game and i have to move on.

    • Great game, but I'm out. I'll tinker with it occasionally, but for the most part I'm done. Why am I quitting? This is no longer a fun game, it's becoming a chore. My decision was caused by two major disappointments.

      1) I worked too hard to buy the Koenigsegg Agera R for 640 gold, and when I race it I get one lame race out of it and then it needs to be serviced for 5 - hours!

      2) Le Mans - Same thing, super hard challenges then service the car, upgrade, wait forever, spend more cash than I can win...I'm tired.

Here's my stats: 458 hours played - Good god, what a waste of time. That's a lot of time staring a my iPhone! Earnings - $34 mill, Gold - 4833, Fame 4.5 mill. - What do I have now: $760,000 RS and 112 gold with 73 cars. It was a good run, but I can't stay on the endless tread mill forever.

      So long RR3!

    • I have been playing RR3 for quite a long time, but this update [v 5.5.0] will be my last.

I have reached level 244 and now own 183 (virtual) cars out of 195 (+50M useless R$)

I am not interested in the 12 remaining cars (5 so called aussie "supercars", 2 Nascar, 2 Lotus, the Merc GT3, the Jaguar XJ220 and the Furai)

I have now reached a point where I need massive amounts of "gold" to upgrade my cars, complete series and win new cars. All that could be done with R$ only have been done. I am now left with the prospect of farming till I am blind. No thanks.

Even worse, replaying flash back events reminded me how easy and cool it once was to win cars. New special events are IMHO a major pain in the butt by comparison. Too demanding, not fun anymore. Since I decided to quit and did not care for saving gold anymore, I litteraly bought my way through "relentless" and purchased the car by skipping goals instead of wasting my time.

Now what comes next ? Several limited-time series. Gold, gold and more gold ;-) If you already own the car at stake, the return is a joke. I will not even bother playing the P1 GTR championship for a few measly coins. This update is the last straw.

I enjoyed playing when RR3 was a game, not the part-time unpaid job it has become (FM, if you read this). But I could not leave without a huge THANK YOU to you all wiki administrators for your dedication (and the tremendous amount of time and work it takes to keep this wonderful wiki up to date) and to you contributors for your precious input and help.

      Regards,

      Tom
