    Method

    Copy the Cars Template

    Edit the Cars page, select source mode and copy the source information for all the cars, do not make your edits in the cars page!

    {{H/car}}
    {{R/car|Ariel|Atom 3.5|44.4|S|RR|1|255,000}}
    {{R/car|Ariel|Atom V8|61.1|S|RR|1|G=Yes|150}}
    {{R/car|Aston Martin|DB9|28.2|P|FR|2|230,000}}
    ...
    {{R/car|SRT|Viper GTS|42.4|S|FR|2|176,000}}
    {{R/car|TOYOTA|Camry ''(Joe Gibbs Racing - 2015)''|44.0|S|FR|1|G=Yes|750}}
    {{R/car|TOYOTA|TS040 Hybrid (2014)|89.4|R|M4|1|G=Yes|1,000}}
    {{T/car}}

    Paste to your profile

    Now edit your profile. Select source mode and paste in the source information.

    The template source needs to start {{H/car}}, edit the cars, deleting all purchased cars in your garage, leaving your outstanding cars, the template needs to end {{T/car}}

    Add Showcase Car Information

    Any cars with locked showcase events, so can be purchased with a 20% discount, add the parser |SC=Yes to that car.

    Example

    For example, |SC=Yes is added to all my cars except the Chevrolet'69 Stingray, Ferrari 599 GTO and Ferrari F12berlinetta:

    {{H/car}}
    {{R/car|Bugatti|Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse|71.8|S|M4|2|G=Yes|750|SC=Yes}}
    {{R/car|Chevrolet|'69 Stingray 427|11.0|R|FR|2|G=Yes|150}}
    {{R/car|Ferrari|599 GTO|47.4|S|FR|1|G=Yes|300}}
    {{R/car|Ferrari|F12berlinetta|48.7|S|RR|3|G=Yes|320|SC=Yes}}
    {{R/car|Ferrari|LaFerrari|66.0|S|MR|2|G=Yes|790|SC=Yes}}
    {{R/car|McLaren|F1 GTR|63.6|R|MR|1|G=Yes|750|SC=Yes}}
    {{R/car|Porsche|911 RSR (2015)|75.6|R|RR|3|G=Yes|670|SC=Yes}}
    {{T/car}}

    Publish

    Now publish your profile. Your outstanding car cost will automatically calculate! As you purchase cars, edit your profile and remove the car, the costs will automatically re-calculate once more.

    Alternative temple

    There is a cars and upgrade costs template, see Automatic Calculation for Cars and Upgrade Costs. The data entry is more complicated for this template to work. The required PR, upgrade costs in R$ and Icon Gold need to be calculated, based on your car garage, then the parsers added. I would therefore recommend the above Automatic Calculation for Your Outstanding Cars template be used for anyone new to the look of template data, at a future time the template can be upgraded by adding ug to the R/car template name, converting it to the R/carug template. The base data for both templates is the same Cars page.

    Ulterior Motive

    As an admin on this wiki, one of my duties is to encourage people to participate, these two car data templates are a good introduction to how templates look and how data are entered and used, once someone takes the time to work out how template data works and looks, it is very easy to work out others, I hope people take the time as the more editors we have adding useful data and correcting inaccuracies, on this wiki, the better it will be. You benefit from knowing how much your outstanding cars will cost too.

    The template design work is done, by RomGuyony and myself, I'm not expecting anyone to become a template designer! I would be happy for missing data to be added, anyone who is interested can see RR3 Wiki:Pages That Need Editing. Most missing data can be gathered by running a race, capturing the R$ and Fame data, editing the race series and updating the data.

    • Brilliant work Michael! I haven't added the showcase discounts yet, but without it i need 8000g only!

      Wait, actually, I feel kinda sad now...geez thanks a lot. ;P

    • Simple, yet brilliant!! My list is almost equal to Michael, with the Agera R and the Toyota TS040, instead of the Berlinetta..

      Not including the new Fords or showcase discounts, 5210 GC..

      Hoping to get the RSR 2015 on "The Gauntlet"..

    • Great work, I've been tracking this in excel and it was a pain. Sadly, you are a week too late for me as I bought my last car last week.

      Not wanting to sound ungrateful but any chance of a similar page for upgrades to reach 100%? It's more complex I know as you have to track upgrade levels of each car but time to upgrade, R$ and gold cost are all interesting factors.

      I require 4010 gold to complete 100% before this last upgrade (and would be complete but for the crazy NASCAR and 650GT costs).

      Yep, I'm almost in the same position, where I own (almost) all the car, and the focus is now on the 100% completion.

      But great work Michael, thank you.

      Thanks.

      If I want to mark a car as outstanding, but with no Icon Gold because I am waiting to win it free via the special event. What is the best way to do that please?

      Maybe a new tag |SE=Yes (Special Event)?

      Personally, I wouldn't put cars in that I was expecting to win, if they are not won then the cost will be known, at the end of a special challenge / feature. The Ford Mustang GT Premium's cost is known, 125 Icon Gold, only the GT350R is unknown, either enter 0 or a high figure 1,000? Once it's won it will be deleted anyway.

      Yes, it can be done, I'll have to create a new template, using the car template as a start point and base data, remove a column or two and add one for upgrade costs. It's a busy time now, with the new update, give me a week and I'll have a look once I finish The Gauntlet Season 2.

      There is already a page with upgrade data, Upgrade Strategy For 100% Completion. The upgrade cost could be added as a parser e.g. |UG=722 for the Ford Fusion (Team Penske - 2015). If the car is already owned the purchase price can be changed to 0, so only the outstanding cars to purchase and the UG parser will be totalled, displaying as two separate totals. I'll have a look on the weekend.

      I had a quick look earlier, see my sandbox, User:RR3 Michael P/Sandbox09, for the concept. Let me know if this is along the line you are thinking. I was considering the R$ upgrade, but by the time this goal is required R$ is generally not the problem, only Icon Gold

        Loading editor
    • That looks good Michael though adding the R$ would be helpful for some people. My strategy to complete the game started before I got excessive R$ and there are a few cars that cost millions which I had to wait until I could afford them, mainly because I was saving the R$ for upgrades during special events. I also notice that I've spent around 20 million R$ recently (upgrading new cars and special event cars). This could be an issue for player in mid game.

      However, for me, that's perfect. You are a star.

      Can you please remove the categories from your profile page? They don't belong there.

      You've added the "Game Mechanics" category to your profile page. How is your profile related to game mechanics in any way?

        Loading editor
    • I've added R$ to User:RR3 Michael P/Sandbox09, the design is getting quite complex! The base data is still from the Cars page, the existing PR can be changed to the current PR, required PR is now a parser |PR=, the purchase cost can be changed to 0 for cars already in the garage, two extra parsers are used for the upgrade cost, |UGGC= for gold upgrade cost and |UGRD= for R$ upgrade cost. The parser |SC=Yes is still used for showcase cars.

      The last two Ferrari, in the sandbox, gives an example of how it could be used. Given the work involved, for the casual racer, I wouldn't expect a high uptake! For someone more dedicated, with a handful of cars left to upgrade it could be useful. Let me know you thoughts and I can convert to a live template.

      The rough steps would be:

      1. Copy the cars from the cars page to your profile
      2. Rename the template name to the new name (possibly just add ug so h-r-t/car becomes h-r-t/carug)
      3. Remove all cars other than cars that need to be purchased and / or upgraded
      4. Change the base PR of the cars to the current PR of the car, in the garage
      5. Add the parser |PR= for the required PR
      6. Change the cost to 0 for any purchased cars that need to be upgraded
      7. Add |SC=Yes for cars that can be be purchased via 20% off showcase events
      8. Calculate the R$ and Icon Gold upgrade costs
      9. Add the parsers |UGRD and |UGGC with the upgrade costs
      10. Publish!

      I haven’t got the time, but in theory someone could create a default r/carug template, with 135 cars, from base PR, with upgrade costs, for the required cars to complete 100% of RR3, the players could copy this to their profile and modify it. It would give the cost for a new racer, starting today, to purchase every car and upgrade the required cars to complete 100%, big exercise but could be done, in theory.

      Hi MELR2,

      I already own the Atom V8 actually. I only miss the Ariel X-Bow R (115 Icon Gold), the Chevrolet '69 Stingray 427 (150 Icon Gold) and the Porsche Cayman GT4 (280 Icon Gold). I don't own them already because during my career progress they were not mandatory for me in order to move to the next steps. I prefered let them aside, and invest in more lucrative cars (like the Toyota TS040 for instance, which I use among the other LMP1 to farm in the 10-lapper Le Mans). Now that I unlocked every series, my current goal is to own all the cars, and to complete 100% of the series :-)

      Ces voitures n'étaient pas la priorité pour moi à l'époque de ma progression dans le jeu, du coup je les ai skippés. Maintenant je veux compléter à 100% les séries, je reviens au fur et à mesure sur que j'ai laissé de côté. Je pourrai les acheter en fait puisque j'ai déjà la somme qu'il faut, mais je veux me garder un buffer de 1000 Icon Gold pour les imprévus (et par habitude), tels que les prochains updates, nouvelles voitures, special events, etc.

    • This is a nice template and I've added it to my profile - thanks for the good work - kudos.

      I'm a little confused about the Showcase Discount though. If you've unlocked a Showcase but haven't bought the car at that point, you've lost the chance for the 20% discount, haven't you?

      In which case the instructions above should say to include SC parser if you still have the Showcase locked and therefore have the possibility of unlocking it and using the discount in the future.... no?

        Loading editor
    • Thanks RoJo, glad you got it to work, looks good in your profile and others. I've corrected the wording to locked, it was contradictory, hopefully it reads better now. It's possible to unlock the car in one series and still have a locked showcase in another, as long as one or more showcase events are available to unlock, meaning the 20% discount is available, the parser |SC=Yes should be added.

      Hastle? It's an option, no obligation :) The work is already done, all that's needed is for the user to adapt the table to their own personal need. It may be just as much work to do it on paper, this is easier for error-spotting and gives a nice visual representation :)

    • Speaking of outstanding cars.  In reading hints about Daytona here, (wow did I learn a lot) I stumbled across this issue of "farming" which has helped me.

      In reading about farming I learned about the bonus series "Endurance Kings."  I am not there yet as I have just started Elite category.  I am working my way thru the Endurance Champions as I was able to win all three cars in a special event.

      So here is my question, I started the game too late and missed the Special Event that would have opened Endurance Kings, I believe it was Road to Lemans.  I see that it looks like it will be available to me when I finally make it to the Legends category.  So in reading here, I assume I will have a chance to win the 2014 Porsche 919 Hybrid later in the game.  I have picked up a few cars this way while working my way through the career.  So worked out great for a late comer like me.

      So what about this 2014 Toyota TS040 Hybrid for 1000GC, and the two 911 RSR's found in Endurance Kings?  Will there be somewhere along the way to win these cars too?  Or will I be stuck paying these huge GC prices for these cars when I finally make it that far?

      Thanks in advance for your help....

    • @98.100.100.197, allot of your questions are answered on the Endurance Kings#WikiaArticleComments, in particular look at the post February 1 by RomGuyony.

      Road To Le Mans has been added to the career, in Legend, some are still winning the Porsche 919 Hybrid (2014)

      Keep farming the 4 lapper in Classic Ferrari Showdown, there are allot of expensive cars ahead, try to save as much Icon Gold as you can. There are a few blogs on progress that may help too:

      The TOYOTA TS040 Hybrid (2014) has been on sale a few times, the 911 RSRs are regular sale cars, see RR3 Wiki:List of Sales so Far

      Hopefully you will win the Porsche 919 Hybrid (2014) and can upgrade it to PR94, good luck and happy racing :)

      That is like £100 x 25 = £2,500 to complete the game, or f knows how many more hours of gameplay on Le Mans EK or EC. This game is ruined by the gold coins. I couldn't imagine those people who just downloaded it. Yes, it is great winning the cars during the window of an event, but the gold coins to buy those you missed or generally out of the car list are too many. Newcomers don't stand a chance, never mind me who is near 60%

      I tried to copy it over to have a "history" of the cars I've bought. But unfortunately the result in the bottom line is always adding all entries together. Is it possible to split the table in half? Maybe you take a look on to my profile page to see what I mean. Thanks in advance! Michael

    • So it seems that variables are parsed at the end so there will only every be one value for a variable on the page. I have solved this problem before but it is a little complilcated. See Cars. Is this what you want?

      The problem I found is that you aren't interested in the purchase price once you've purchased the car and are more interested in the upgrades. What you really want to do is move the cars you have purchased to the carug template from Car_Costs table.

        Loading editor
    • Thank you very much. Your CarsTest page does, what I would like to do.

      On the other hand, would be also interesting to have the cars displayed like it is done in the Cars_Costs table. But for now, I can live well with the first solution. :)

      After playing around a little bit: I figured, I want to stick to the old template for the cars that are not purchased and change it to your new template for the bought cars. Works for me :)
