Bad thing about this option is you won´t earn any fame point during team event, so if you don´t get a good team position you gain nothing, but if you go for a high team position this is the best choice

Totally correct... I am not worried about earning fame points (9K + Gc & 5 event to go for the next 100%) so therefore I did not realize this is a topic for others while doing events. My apoligy for that.. If you want to go fast with the overtakes this stays the best option though. Good Luck all, Happy racing...

Actually I keep my winning percentage aka gold trophies more than 70 %.. just a silly obsession here.. therefore, I am not going to use such methods since it will ruin the percentage.. I just hope somebody who has been playing longer than me could give me suggestion which event can effectively be used for my one member's team to get some extra gold.. :)

    • So I guess the best options at least for me right now are endurance in exclusive series of MP4X and One:1. However, I am still waiting for better option since if I run the current options then it should be with serviced car. If I run these series online the TSM will be difficult to be beaten with unserviced car for maintaining the winning percentage. Or can we start offline and change to online during the race?

It seems as though I recall most of the previous OT challenges having a 20gc award for 1400 OTs, and a 40gc award for reaching 2500 OTs. Might it have been missed in the notification files? ...or are the details pretty certain?

Finally, 20 gc can be achieved by running the LM endurance in breakneck legend with unserviced venom.. there is something which I cannot understand is that in the top team there are so many people who can easily get into top 300th by creating solo team and get 200 gc (they were running more than 7000 overtakes) instead of getting maximum 70 gc by joining the full team.. is it because of pride?

LTC won't show the flags icon "You're in the competition", but will credit your achievements towards the team goal- yes.

    • It's not a stupid question and I'm not confident of the answer. If you own the car then running in the LTS does register in the team event (but doesn't show the banner). I think if you don't own the car then it registers too but I'm not 100% sure.

Thing is no-one cares about having an advantage, they just quickly share all the best options (although this does NOT happen for top speed, I wonder why) so with everyone knowing where to race then it just makes it harder for those who look into what options are best to choose.

        Loading editor
    • Hello stranger, welcome back. I don't mind sharing tips for career and WTTT. Career isn't competitive and WTTT is very much about driver skill (talking of which, have you beaten my time in the Dodge yet? Not often I'm ahead of you). However, the team challenges have become a grind because everyone is sharing the best track/car/technique/gitches and it's just a matter of who can put in the most hours. I just don't have that much time to spare any more.

        Loading editor
    • I too will share any information but when it comes to the events where knowledge is an advantage I respect that teams don't share that with the world, maybe now that I'm not in a team I could help by showing people where to start for top speeds since others are so reluctant to help when they're in the competition themselves

Only spent 20 mins max to do a lap for weekly, I don't have the '15 919 so not much point trying hard yet, good to be having fun playing again though it's a welcome distraction from the other games I play

I think I would have tried for a top 1,000 but knowing that everyone is already informed where to race it's pointless even thinking about it now, could have been fun

Likewise, I'm a 'sole team member', just in it for the bare minimum of gold and as a change from Le Mans. 6 minutes per 13 laps of Dubai (2.2) and done in 2 hours for 20 G. Not to mention, for me, half a level up worth of fame in to the bargain. See how things go later today but I might slog it out for the 500 lap target. Depends what's on tele tonight.

On the subject of efficiency, four 'ten lappers' in Endurance Kings takes about 2 hours and gets 113,600 fame (unaugmented). At my level (232) that equates to about 4.8 gold per race, so about 19.2 for 2 hours work; 280 laps of Dubai Oval in the same time gets about 93,000 fame, about 15.7 G for the same time racing - but with the team event gold as a bonus.

Makes a nice change for a solo 'team' to have a good chance at getting some gold.

      Welcome back,RR3G'hamO,

I just have my one-man team. I don't have the time,(or the skills) to be on a multi-player team.

I just thought you need to find the race with the shortest lap.Which is what I did.

I'll run the challenges as a break from farming.LeMans seems to be more efficient anyway.

I'll get my 40 gold and call it a day.

Your math is right on. I always use the Agent to double that 10-lapper fame, which makes it 56,000ish. So,four of them is about 225,000. I'm at level 254.

Sort of. However, you can achieve the team target without upgrading the car with gold (Lemans 2.2 in the LTS), so it's not strictly necessary to spend gold on the car. If gold acquisition is all a person cares about (e.g. a new player who doesn't have a lot of gold in the bank) then it's better to skip the full LTS and just do the Lemans Autocross (total net gold is a positive value, but you don't get the car, obviously).

That said, I'm going to complete the LTS because I like the car, think the 164gc net price is a bargain and it means achieving the team target in less than 50% of the time (11.2 instead of 2.2). I'm sure you'll agree that doing the Lemans autrocross 240 times (or whatever) is a much more tedious proposition than the Oval :) That was the sweetener for me.

    • Whilst I agree that new players often don't have enough gold in the bank, just caring about gold is a self defeating strategy. It is only valid if you never want to own this car or are happy to wait for a chance to win it in the future. If you care about full garage or 100% completion then you have to take into account the lost opportunity cost of not winning this car.

        Loading editor
    • Being a new player, I've tried to balance my choices between gold acquisition and spending very carefully. I was burnt by the Front Runner flashback and the Elusive One events (thankfully, I was able to reset my save and get the "lost" gold back). Now, I fully research each event before committing gold to it.

You're right, purely focusing on gold is self defeating (why get gold at all if you never intend to spend it) but I don't think anyone does that and that's not what I meant.

Right now, my primary focus is on progressing through the game but spending as little gold as I can. I'm doing that because I'm fully aware how scarce gold is in this game, compared to the requirements of gold throughout the game. So I'm currently only completing gold positive series (where possible) and I'm not getting 100% if it results in a net loss of gold. I do events if they're gold positive or if I really like the car and the net loss isn't too high (this LTS is an example of that, for me).

But I didn't do the Lotus LTS, I just used the Base car to complete the team event.

Because of this approach, I now have over 2.4k gc, I've got access to the classic Ferrari showdown 4 lapper for R$ and I'm able to take advantage of these events when I think they're worth it. Had I not taken that approach, or were I just starting out, putting 163gc into this event wouldn't be worth it at all.

At some point, I'll have no more gold positive series left to do. That's when I'll start focusing on spending my gold rather than saving it.

PS 100% completion or full garage don't interest me. This is a fun game but I'm not going to bother with that amount of time investment/grinding. I'll have got bored of the game long before then so I'm going to get as much gold as I can now while I'm enjoying the game.

I'm pretty certain it'll be a tiny fraction of the time for me to spend all my gold compared to how long it'll take me to save it up ;)

    • My goal is 100% of the exclusive series but yesterday I got the jag svr on showcase discount and found out it takes over 1k gold to fully upgrade to enter the exclusive series. I did however buy the lightweight jag un FU it (taking advantage of the up grade sale) and do the extravaganza series making me finally have 100% in the pro category. You say you are gonna research stuff search for real racing guru on you tube he has a lot of vids to help with flashbacks and stuff. You can usually see what the goals are before you have to do them as he has been playing for years. Also if your stuck on a goal look up real racing speed junkie he has no narrative but you can see what lines you may need to change up to complete the goal.

    • At the risk of getting told off for being off-topic, I'll make one more post on the subject.

Your approach is very sensible and I wasn't criticising it, I'm just saying that if you want the car, not winning it now has a cost which you should subtract from any gold won for a true lost opportunity cost.

You might be interested in the little project I've been conducting. I started a new game and am trying to complete all the career series without farming. I've reached the Elite Group with around R$1,000,000 and 1,300Icon Gold in the bank. I've only run each career series in turn, buying the cars I needed to progress, winning each race first time and only upgrading them enough to unlock the next career series. By the end, I should have all series unlocked and showcase discounts still available for all cars not yet bought though I think I'll run out of gold before Campionato Scuderia Ferrari.

I have left NASCAR All-Star Series as it was too expensive at the time (needing the TOYOTA Camry (Sunoco) at R$750,000 just to unlock the Ford Fusion (Richard Petty Motorsports) for another R$1,000,000). I'm sure it's R$ positive in the end but it was easier to leave it at the time. I've also left one series incomplete (I forget which one) as it needed a new car bought just to finish one or two events and unlock two bonus series. It didn't stop me progressing in the career so I left it for later.

I've just reached the Elite Series (completed the Speedrush TV Challenge) and it looks like it's going to get a lot harder from here. I'll probably skip the Supercars Championship '16 and Supercars Championship '17 as Legend will be unlocked by then and it will probably be more efficient to do it first.

I'm going to write it up and publish some results shortly as I think Elite and Legend might take a little longer than the other series. I'm certainly having to put more thought into "buy new car or upgrade existing" now.

It's surprising how well thought out the career seems to be. So far I've only spent the following gold:

Not possible. Data about collected gold is connected to player id. You may run solo, collect 20+40 gold, leave you solo team, join you actual race team, but you can't collect that 20\20=1 gold and 40\20=2 gold. But still may get gold reward if you team will be in top 100.

I was able to get 60 gold in under 2 hours of casual, unserviced play. I'm only level 49 now, so I was able to level up once in the process. I netted 78 gold in my case anyways.

They call it "Prestige". Team leaders want to be on Podium.

But current version of Race Teams is... "oversimple". It's need "Hall of Fame" where each team really have got weight. Now it's just "line of the top others". I don't see a point in this.

Even worse: top 2000 is 1 M R$. I'm currently ranked 1600th with 241 laps and TC finishes in about an hour... Let's hope FM allow us to buy liveries and vinyls for R$ in a near future...

    • At the beginning of this update, I had 1.5mil R$ and 850 Gold. Now I've gained a few cars and opened some series strategically (making sure I don't win so as to open ones in middle of a run, which would force me to buy cars out of sequence).

Now I'm down 950,000 and 645 with little effort. The current LTS lets me run LaMans LTS @45 seconds/per + rejuv time (about a minute / per).

I ran team of one (Me) 36 laps, and for sure will win the 500,000 R$. Plus every run is 2,500 R$ just for placing first, that's another 90,000 just for trying. No way would I want to be the only worker on a team and have to give that to a bunch of loser sloths.

I'm on level 55 and 2.5% complete. No way to ever win all cars or all races as absurd as FM has gouged the freemium (as many have already postulated, the cost -- ugh). So we take the don't worry about gaining and cruise, taking advantage of these rare opportunities to get a bit ahead.

That's the only way this can be fun for a new person imo

If you do want the R$, leave your team now. You already have the gold. I've never tried it, but when I left the 20 guy teams I was on, I got no completion reward. Should work the same way for a one-man team.

      Looks like quite a few did the 1 man team;

      240 races = 2025 place

      241 races = 1782 place

      245 races = 1554 place

      250 races = 1442 place

HUGE jump for just one extra race! I'm sure it's changed now, just showing the gaps.

That's almost 7 hours 30 minutes if you only count the 7 - 20s periods Plus about 48 minutes for restarts of the events... so that is 8 hours.

Track length doesn't matter, though with an unserviced car Melbournes lack of long straights might be better. Speed of car only really matters so that you can get into first, it does nothing to do with lowering the amount of event time.

Point of the video is to show how to achieve the minimum distance for each win so that you don't effect bot slowing.

      160secs × 190wins = 30,400secs = well over 8hrs

Where are you getting your numbers? 5 hours to win 60 gold? It's more like 8+ hours to win 40 gold. It seems this event only has one gold milestone. 190 wins = 40 gold.

I think 20 seconds is the very high end of how long it takes, but even with your assumptions it's 8 hours and 20 minutes. That's hardly well over 8 hours.

You slow the bots before the event, then you never go further than the distance of the second place bots during the event.

On some events, such as eliminations, the bots will change even with a restart. The method that Speed Junkie uses basically does not cause a change in bots with restarts. Try it and see.

it doesn't matter, in fact Android users have installed "unbreackable" Mod.

And Top Teams may use their Gold for instant repair and get it back after challenge end.

    • Eliminations can often be won with an unserviced car. If necessary, dumb the bots down before starting.

And if you can do it with TiltA, BA Low, all the better, as the you'll rarely need to do any manual braking.

As an example, on Mount Panorama, an unserviced One:1 running tilt A, SA High, BA Low is an easy win over _thefreak_ in P1, paying 1,400 fame.

Exclusive Series, Koenigsegg One:1, 18.1, Elimination, Mount Panorama

All that said, I'm sitting this one out, the payback isn't nearly good enough for the time needed as a one man team.

    • Would the elimination overtake trick work here? As in, if you get eliminated, but end up overtaking everyone before the screen changes, will they give you the win like they gave the 7 overtakes in previous events?

I'll try it once the event starts, but just wondering if anyone already knows. Thanks.

Nope, sorry. It is Elimination wins, so you gotta come 1st

        Loading editor
    • No need for service. Once the bots are slow enough to guarantee a win even unserviced, just keep hitting retry and you'll always have the exact same bots as long as you don't exit by choosing continue.

Since I haven't unlocked the fancy races in Legend series, think I'll stick to the elimination in the Jag LTS which nets 1200 XP.

    • So this is an interesting team event. Anyone scoring more than 643 is clearly cheating. Why?

      ( 25 hours * 60 minutes * 60 seconds ) / (7 * 20 seconds) = 642.85

You can preload the first elimination so 643 is the absolute maximum. Of course this comes down when you factor in restart times. So I'm going to go through the teams and screen shot anyone with more than 500 wins.

According to your blog, if you use more than one device but don't modify the game files, then it's not cheating.

Some eliminations in special events only have 2 or 3 opponents, but I don't think there are any in the available flashbacks or special events, though.

        Loading editor
    • I have tried few elimination races with highest fame.. since I rarely do bot slowing, I found that melbourne elimination with F14T is the best option.. bots are very slow in F1.. so eventhough u have to race against the fastest bot, u can still win with unserviced car.. I tried one:1 at mount panorama and with unserviced car it is difficult to win if u race against speedyparkins or above..

        Loading editor
    • thanks Sirebel for this chaeat-detection-calculation!

if I may put one more soft-factor in to detect indicators of cheating:

may I use your formula and extend it?

      ( 25 hours * 60 minutes * 60 seconds ) / (7 * 20 seconds + 20 seconds loading time) = 562.5

so, 563 would be theoretically possible, but not really physically, due breaks or a little bit longer reloads

So, everyone over or even with near to amont of 563 wins is suspisious. Lets see the top-teams this time!

Touche but I think using two devices, at the same time, is clearly cheating as you can't do it without some programmed assistance.

Realistically speaking, you need to factor in race reload time. For my device, it is usually around 20secs, so 140secs per race win + 20secs race reload = 160secs

      160secs × 190wins = 30,400secs = well over 8hrs

I will be sitting this one out!

I think 20 seconds is the very high end of how long it takes, but even with your assumptions it's 8 hours and 20 minutes. That's hardly well over 8 hours.

With that said, if you're willing to spend 8 hours, then even 9 hours isn't much more.

18 seconds is the absolute minimum turnaround time according to my stopwatch (ever hear of 'rounding'). That assumes an unserviced car so one doesn't have to wait for the bars to tick off, and the retry rather than continue button.

I'd opine 8h20m is well over eight hours, just as 8h45 would be almost 9 hours.

Whatever, a helluva way to spend a Sunday. Count me out of this event.

    • 140 seconds for the elimination to complete plus 20seconds for race reset thats 160 seconds, and you need 190wins 8,4 hours , like diber27 said, and people in top teams do 400+!! 160 x 400 = 17,7 hours ~ 17 hours and 40 minutes. All they do is playing the game and when they have to do a piss they put a bottle near them.. and eat while playing. Cool life....

    • Well, 190 wins in the book. I ran mostly Race 15.1 of Supercar Elites at Melbourne with the Koenigsegg Agera or the Porsche 918 Spyder concept.

Take-aways: While it is a considerable investment in time, I:

      • Earned 40 Icon Gold I wouldn't have gotten had I not run the event.
      • I got a lot of really good practice on Melbourne. I am now confident about the line through there.
      • I got to use two cars that I never get to use. Even unrepaired, the Agera is a very good car once you work out the correct brake points and line for the track. The Spyder is very capable too, and what it gives up in speed it makes up for in agility.
      • Firemonkeys has ruined the experience of the Pagani Huayra. After just a few runs I couldn't stand listening to it, so even though I really love the car in game, it got repaired and garaged very early on.
      • 228,000 Fame Points (1,200 x 190). That is still enough for a full level up. So 35 Icon Gold more I wouldn't have had yet as I likely wouldn't have farmed it without the event.
      • Running that many races, The Agent came back in less than 14 hours. I used her last night for the 20% Fame Race, and then by 2PM she was free again. So the amount of activity you have still definitely influences the frequency you get free use of Crew.

There was even a point last night where I thought that 190 might be enough for the top 1000, but it looks more to be in the 300 win range, and that is more than I am willing to put in.

In my earlier days (playing rr3 for only 3 months), I was joining a very good team which always finished in top 100 or 200 and run several team events with them.. I could contribute a lot to them for events which require time (laps, overtakes, etc) but not for events which require skill (top speed) n certain car (even now my garage still far from full).. so I leave the team..

Now I understand that joining a team is all about commitment and tolerance.. so it is not so simple.. I need a teammate who really wants to work hard with me.. to create a team who could fill and understand each other.. as we may not always be 100% due to our real life chores..

some people might say.. hey chill out man it is only a game and you just trying to find a teammate not a wife.. haha..

Top teams often have 2 or even 3 teams that they pull from for events. You have to prove yourseld in a lower team to have access to the higher tiers.

In top speed events the team can be getting shuffled with only an hour left to run. It lights a fire under you! Can't be in the bottom few or you will be asked to switch to the lower tier. MASSIVE amount of pressure and work done by the team leader.

Of course you would do very little shuffling for other events. Need to know who will pull their weight before the event starts to be a top competitive team.

Yes from the info I've seen, only single 20 for team goal.

      On a 2.683 mile course.

That would be 243 laps of the current full circuit.

      Another to sit out then.

    • What is interesting is the laps team challenge next week that uses the Huracan Performante and occurs four days into the Perfect Storm special event. Will have to leave one day uncompleted and hit retry on one of the suitable races.

        Loading editor
    • Or use the Huracán R3 Spec, I've seen it's open to any Huracán.

Edit : "open to any Huracán" is for the top speed and not the laps/distance you are talking about. I didn't read this properly before jumping in with my 2 cents. Apologies on my behalf for any confusion caused by this.

Yeah, it's really weird. Maybe they want to discourage solo teams. I really enjoyed all the race teams challenges I took part in and they felt right for reward against time invested. But 7 hours for 40gc and 5+ hours for 20gc is too much time investment for the reward.

5 hours plus alone counts me out. I can't spend five hours of my day playing the game let alone running the same track over and over again.

It's a shame. I love the car and was up for this until I saw the reward requirement.

    • Agree, Time/Reward ratio is really poor for solo players.

      20 Gold for ~8 Hours (480 Minutes). It's 1 Gold for 24 Minutes).

For me it's look's like they foreceing solo players to quit.

      Or foreceing to donate?

    • The Team Challenge next week (Dec 14th) will be useless (Laps with Huracan Performante) - nobody will have finished the event (the perfect storm) 'til wednesday. I think there is a missunderstanding between TC next week (Laps) and Dec 20th (Top Speed). Maybe FM will change this.

I see you are smart one. If they don't want to see solo players, why they allow to actually play? Maybe they should set minimum limit on team (3 for example)?

I didn't mean they don't want solo players.  It is just that folks were bitching that this challenge excluded the solo player by having large goals, incinuating that they did something wrong.  I was just pointing out that I dont think the goals and rewards were necessarily designed for solo player.

      Good point.

The way I look at it, I do not want to be a part of a team, as I want to play the game on my terms, however, when a Team Goal is attainable for a single player team, then I go for it and consider it a bonus. I don't complain if the goals is to difficult to attain for one, because it is designed to be a team event.

I would say however that there have been some great single racer teams in motorsports history. Sir Frank Williams comes to mind. Also Vincenzo Lancia, Mario Andretti in his early career, same for A.J. Foyt.

that would be like about 105 miles an hour...the top team as of 5 pm EST has a person that hhas logged 2408 miles how? That’s like114 miles per hour figuring 21 hours till now. That’s no breaks, repairing or nothing. Think that needs investigating.

Sorry, Toby, it is never going to happen. The teams at the top, that did not get banned are smart. They end up with amounts that are just in the realm of the possible. Online Multiplayer is even worse.

More importantly, the game is free, so unlike iRacing.com or even GT Sport, FM isn't going to invest time into moderating these online formats the way the other who focus on subscriptions will. And it would be difficult to turn over the moderation to user volunteers.

The thing about this event is you are thinking in terms of the NISSAN SILVIA (S15) R3 Spec however the Top Teams are more than likely running the Ferrari LaFerrari fully upgraded in the New Exclusive Series. Tier 16.3 has a 12 Lap race at Red Bull Ring Südschleife National Circuit which would net then 28km per race.

That means that they would need to do 6.25 races per hour to reach 4,400km in 25 hours... and I would suspect that the La Ferrari in a top tier driver's hands could do 12 laps in 9 minutes... I still think it is pushing it as being probable... but it is possible.

        Loading editor
    • I think I had around a 7:40 when I ran the LaFerrari serviced so 9 should be within possibility unserviced? I'm only average not a top 100 racer yet.
