Due to inconsistent editing on article pages and after debate between the admins, it has been decided to restrict access for editing on article pages to signed in users. Anon users will still be able to post comments, talk in forums etc. This comes into immediate effect. The main reasons for this change are:
Deliberate wrong edits done by Anon users
We are unable to contact anon users when wrong editing is done
Many comments and forum posts are made by anon users
We researched different restriction options, the main option available to admins is to restrict all access to signed in users. This would have been too restrictive. We want the Wiki to be open to everyone.
After consulting wikia staff the option to restrict article pages was found and has been implemented.
What are articles pages? I still unsure about it. Could any of you explain in more details?
The article pages are the pages that have no prefix separated by a colon. This namespace is commonly called the "(main) namespace" or "mainspace". The (main) namespace typically contains the bulk of the content pages in a wiki.
