It seems there are only two turns where racers need to find an optimal point to brake. The rest of the turns can be done on-the-fly.

Bot slowing tip for 1.2. Distance doesn't matter only 15 overtakes matters. As soon as I got 15 and the green pop-up "passed" sign appeared, I turned around and raced backwards as far as possible. This gave me a lower distance and should keep the bots of slow.

Goal 1.3: Cup at Formula E Hong Kong Circuit Afternoon [2 laps] - Win this event - Recommended PR60.2

Reports

Adamoyan Stage 1 Report:

Upgrades/PR: Started tier 1 upgrades as soon as I entered the Special Event. I completed Goal 1 and Goal 2 with the base PR of 60.2, but waited for the tier 1 upgrades to finish before trying Goal 3. I kicked off the only two R$ tier 2 upgrades so they will be ready for Stage 2 in the morning.

Controls: Tilt B, no assists, no traction.

Goal 1: First attempt was disastrous as I wasn't looking at the map and turned right instead of left at the 1st hairpin! Lol The rest of the lap was just an opportunity to familiarise myself with the Hong Kong track. Second attempt I won fairly easily by getting the inside line on the first hairpin. From there I just made sure I blocked any passing attempts by the bot.

Goal 2: Went pretty hard and passed 14 cars before getting to 5.5 kms. I mucked up the overtake for the 15th car and didn't pass it until about 6.7 km (which put me into 1st place). My tip for this goal is to turn around and run backwards once you see the green banner after the 15th overtake. Use up any remaining time reducing your distance. You will still pass the Goal, but this may help manage the bots in later Stages.

Goal 3: With all tier 1 upgrades I passed this on the first attempt quite readily. I got to 3rd place by the end of lap 1, then into the lead about halfway through lap 2. My tip is to force your way into the inside of the track - the bots seem to leave a large enough gap to squeeze underneath them in most corners, even though the track is tight.

Reports

Adamoyan Stage 2 Report:

Upgrades/PR: Started with tier 1 upgrades completed (PR 64.1) and raced Goals 1 & 2 with this status. For Goal 3, the two tier 2 R$ upgrades had completed, giving me a PR of 65.2.

Controls: Tilt B, no assists, no traction.

Goal 1: On my first attempt I got to the lead by mid-way through the 2nd lap, but I failed by trying to slow the bots too much in the home straight - I had Magnus jammed on my rear bumper, but another bot snuck past me just metres before the finish line! On my second attempt I was in 3rd place by the end of the first lap, and got to 1st place very early in the second lap. My tip for this Goal is to cut the corners a little bit when passing cars on the corners to avoid colliding and damaging your car.

Goal 2: This one was not hard, but I failed my first attempt by seeing if reaching 226 kph twice was enough to get the green banner and pass - it wasn't, you definitely have to win the event too (just like the instructions said! lol) I passed on my second attempt easily with tier 1 upgrades. I reached the first place speed of 257 kph in the starting straight, then got to 226 kph again in the second short straight. I just cruised for the rest of the lap.

Goal 3: With PR 65.2, I easily got to 1st place by turn 3 on the first lap. So I had achieved the "50 seconds in 1st place" before the end of lap 1. From then on, I just tried to slow the bots as much as I could by blocking them from overtaking. Almost got too cute again, but passed on my first attempt without any real difficulty.

Jkmoore1120 Report Stage 2, Car at PR65.x (max R$ upgrades)

Stage 2 Goal 1: Cut across the first corner to avoid the traffic in the corner, then cut across the third corner onto the longer back straight. After that was able to easily keep it in the lead.

Stage 2 Goal 2: By the time this goal came up, I had all R$ upgrades on the car. Top speed is reached on the main straight immediately after starting. It might be possible to get back up to the required speed a second time by tapping the brakes and running off the track, though I did not try this. Required speed of 140mph was reached a second time on the shorter straight before the right hand turn that leads back onto the main straight. Speed could also easily be reached with no upgrades by reversing to get the entire length of the main straight and then going back down it a second time to get back to 140mph.

Stage 2 Goal 3: The lap takes over 1 minute to complete, so as long as you are in the lead before the start line of the second lap, you'll be fine. If you struggle, brake later down the main straight on the first lap, you can use the other cars to "brake." There are also several points on the track where you can cut substantial time by driving off the track, if necessary.

Adamoyan Stage 3 Report:

Upgrades/PR: Raced all Goals in Stage 3 with a PR of 66.9 (1122222). (Started the available tier 3 R$ upgrades for tomorrow.)

Controls: Tilt B, no assists, no traction.

Goal 1: No problem at this PR - I got to first at turn 1, then cruised the rest of the way.

Goal 2: I failed my first attempt by not concentrating on the average speed criteria and trying to manage the bots. Silly me. Force-closed and restarted for a second attempt. Got to first place before the overpass on lap 1, then continued to race hard to get the average speed target. I raced poorly and went off track many times, but finished comfortably in the end with an average speed of 189 kph after limiting my speed in the final straight to 190-200 kph. At lower PRs, this should be possible, but you will need to race hard and clean, with no uncontrolled off-track moments (unlike me!) - my tip is to use corner cutting too, especially on the final chicane.

Goal 3: At this PR, winning with the required distance was easy, but to reach the max speed target I had to run off the track at the end of the start/finish straight at the beginning of lap 2. The bots caught up to me a bit, but I maintained first place and raced slower from then on to manage my lead (I finished with a lead of 84 metres). I think it could be hard with lower PR, but whatever your upgrade status, try to come out of the curve into the home straight fast and cleanly, then just full throttle all the way into the sand.

Goal 4: Easy at this PR - I got to second in the esses on the first lap, and had tailgated for the 20 seconds by the overpass. I took the lead at the hairpin just after the overpass and went into "bot management" mode. Spun Magnus and De Vries out once each, and just cruised the rest of the way. I finished with a lead of 19 metres. I suspect this will be easier than Goals 2 & 3 for people with lower PRs.

Adamoyan Stage 4 Report:

Upgrades/PR: Raced Goals 1 & 2 in Stage 4 with a PR of 68.6 (1123332). Added a couple more tier 2 upgrades for Goals 3 & 4 to reach PR 69.7 (2223332). (Also started the tier 3 R$ upgrades for engine and drivetrain for tomorrow.)

Controls: Tilt B, no assists, no traction.

Goal 1: Quite simple at this PR, even though Bathurst is one of my weakest tracks. Just raced moderately hard and tried to stay clean. Got to 3rd place on the top of the mountain on lap 1, but Magnus seemed to have an enormous rear-end as I found it a bit tricky to pass him. Smashed his rear windscreen in frustration, then cruised the second lap and won by a small margin of 11 metres.

Goal 2: I used a free engineer on this one to preserve car condition. Again, this goal was quite easy with this PR - I got to first place at the chicane in the back straight on lap 1, then made the target speed without trouble in the start/finish straight. After that, I just cruised to maintain 1st position by a small margin again. My tip for hitting the target speed is to ensure you come through the final turns fast and clean, to hit the throttle and accelerate into the straight with no bumps, skids, or slips. Lower PR values may require running into the wall, but at my PR I had time enough to brake and turn cleanly.

Goal 3: For this goal I was back above the recommended PR again due to the tier 2 upgrades for engine and drivetrain. The goal was quite simple at this PR - again, I just drove as cleanly as I could. I hit the lead on lap 3 and started lapping the back markers before lap 4. Once you start lapping back markers, you will find that you lead over Magnus extends rapidly, as his bot must struggle to pass. I had to wait at the finish line, and still won by over 300 metres... perhaps I should've waiting a bit longer to bring the margin down a bit more.

Goal 4: Tried twice with an unserviced car, but no good - I could only manage about +160 metres, but Magnus was at +314 metres. Serviced the car and tried again. Passed the goal with +338 metres after slowing down near the end. Bathurst is definitely one of my weaker tracks, so I think players who set good TT times at Mount Panorama will be able to pass this one at lower PRs.

  • 5.4 H2H @ Daytona (Evening) - Speedway (2 laps) - Win without damaging your car

Adamoyan Stage 5 Report:

Upgrades/PR: Bought the tier 4 engine upgrade and rush-built the tier 5 one before I started today, to give a PR of 71.9 (5323332). I raced Goals 1 & 2 with that configuration, then added the tier 3 body upgrade for Goals 3 & 4 to reach PR 72.4 (5333332). (Also started the tier 6 engine and tier 4 body R$ upgrades for tomorrow.)

Controls: Tilt B, no assists, no traction.

Goal 1: Was not hard at this PR. My target speed was 330.1 kph, and I reached 331 in the straight coming back to the start/finish line, then hit the brakes and limped over the line. My tip for lower PRs is to make sure you come clean through the bus stop chicane and accelerate out of it well - traction control may need to be turned off to ensure you get the acceleration you need. High PRs should pass this with ease.

Goal 2: on my first attempt, I made it to second place after the hairpin. But I failed as Ahmed was too fast, and I could not catch him once we were on the banked track section without running out of fuel. On my second attempt, I attacked harder from the green lights, even though it burnt more fuel. This time I got past Ahmed not far past the hairpin. I then settled into fuel-conservation mode while blocking Ahmed's attempts to overtake me. This worked well during the remaining road section of track, but once we were back out on the speedway banked sections, Ahmed was again fast... I managed to block him up until the bus-stop, got a small lead up through there - about 150 metres was the maximum gap - but that last section of track felt awfully long as I didn't have enough fuel to go full-throttle. Ahmed ended up right on my tail and I had to block his aggressive attempts at passing. Crossedvwith less than 0.2 units of fuel remaining, and a margin of 11 metres over Ahmed. Remember, it's ok to go off-track for this challenge if you have to to overtake cars on the turns.

Goal 3: After Ahmed's speed on the last goal, I was suspicious, so I bought the tier 3 body upgrade to give me a bit more speed and acceleration. On my first attempt, I was in second place after lap 1, but I never caught Ahmed - he beat me by 250 metres, even though my average speed was 222 kph. We ran into backmarkers just before the bus stop chicane on lap 3, but Ahmed went past them without slowing much (if at all). On the second attempt, I used a free engineer to preserve car condition, and I went really hard at the start. This time I managed to get to second place before reentering the banked track portion, and passed Ahmed just after the bus stop on lap 1. He stayed within 200 metres of me for the rest of the race. I tried blocking him a bit on the last lap, but he was aggressive and almost knocked me off-track. So I concaentrated on staying only a bit in front of him and won by a small margin of 7 metres in the end. My tip for this one is to go hard and make up as many positions as you can at the start of lap 1 - you risk going off-track, but Ahmed may be hard to catch on laps 2 & 3 if you are not right on his tail before the end of lap 1.

Goal 4: This goal was very straightforward at the PR I have the car at now. You can go full throttle around Daytona Speedway, so provided you have got enough speed in the car, you should beat this readily. I was on Ahmed's rear bumper right from the green lights, then went past him on the high side of the first corner. I powered the first lap, then slowed down for the second to lower my winning margin -it was 7 metres again.

tehneoeo report:

car with upgrades 1323332, PR 69.8

Goals 1 & 2 were no problem. I had the same experience as Adamoyan on Goal 2. Goal 3 is problematic. Driving hard around curve 1, I can get to 2nd place before the first hairpin, but by then Ahmed is 50 yards ahead. After four or five tries, I can't close the gap through three laps, though I can easily attain the required average speed, even at the end of the first lap.

Adamoyan Stage 6 Report:

Upgrades/PR: 24/27 upgrades completed for a PR of 73.4 (6343332).

Controls: Tilt B, no assists, no traction.

Goal 1: At this PR, winning the race was easy, even though Ahmed was pretty fast. But I was surprised how long it took to catch the back-marker to meet the "lap an opponent" criterion. My first lap was a bit untidy, with lots of slip-sliding. Caught the back-marker about half-way through lap 3, then cruised just ahead of that car to bring my winning margin down. Beat Ahmed by 24 metres. Serviced the car and rushed it with ads. People with high PRs will likely find this easy. My tip for players with lower PR cars is to cut corners to make up ground - especially the final chicane. Make sure any off-track moments are controlled as any prangs will slow you down. Be patient too - you may not see the back-marker until right near the end of lap 3.

Goal 2: At this PR, this goal was straightforward. I hit the front before the Dunlop bridge, then got to 345 kph on the first section of the Mulsanne straight with more than enough braking room. I ran hard for both laps to have a bit of fun, but slowed right down in the Porsche curves to bring Ahmed and Magnus back up close to me. Won by 20 metres over Magnus in the end. High PR cars will easily get through this challenge - my tip for lower PRs is to start hard and make sure you're in the lead early. Get a clean, fast line into the Mulsanne straight (no skids!) and floor it all the way into the wall. My guess is you will reach the speed target if your car is upgraded enough to show a max speed of about 348 kph (some players are saying 19 upgrades will get you there).

Goal 3: Although Ahmed and Magnus were fast, this was the easiest of today's goals. I just raced hard and clean, spun Magnus when I got to him (for fun, just so Ahmed could come second), and then cruised to maintain a small lead - I finished with a lead of 15 metres over Ahmed. With a lower PR car, remember that you can cut corners. Cutting the last chicane should be very helpful if anyone is having difficulty beating Magnus and Ahmed in a lower PR car.

Goal 4: With my monstrously high PR, this was again fairly simply. I raced hard early down the right side of the track to make it to 3rd place by the back straight, then just was patient behind Ahmed and Magnus. I overtook both of them at the bus-stop with an inside-outside manoeuvre that I was prett happy with! From there I raced hard, but clean (to avoid damage). I finished with a lead of 490 metres over Ahmed. My tips for lower PR cars are to cut corners if needed - but be careful to control these acts as a bingle into the barriers will damage your car. Lap 2 is your best chance to set the fastest lap, as there will be no back-marker traffic to contend with, so try to get into 1st place for lap 2. Be careful on lap 3 that you don't run up the rear end of back-markers - especially the black cars which I find hard to see in the dawn lighting until I am almost upon them.

Good luck to all - I hope you win the car!

Start / End Strategy

The player has 6 days to complete the 6 stages, the event is 6 days x 24 hours. The first stage will start the time the player starts it, the last stage will end 6 x 24 hours later. As stage 01 is normally straight forward and can be completed without an upgrade or service, it can be started late in the day, it doesn't matter if stage 01 isn't completed the first day, it can continued the following day. Stage 02, will automatically unlock at midnight, but can only be raced once stage 01 is complete. Stage 03 will unlock at midnight the following day, and so on up to stage 6. In total there will be 6 x 24 hours = 144 hours to complete all stages.

For example:

Start Tue @ 10:30 PM the event will end 6 days x 24 hours later, Monday @ 10:30 PM,

RR3 Michael P wrote (pre-race tip):
Normally I wouldn't recommend starting the event on the first day, Dec 13th, as many racers, who start as soon as the event opens, complain about bugs, which FM then fix! Instead leave the start a day or two and let other people do the bug testing. Also the tips and details can be filled in by the early adopters, so starting a day or two later gives a better heads up.

Ideally, for racers who are busy Monday to Friday and have the weekend free, the best day and time to start is as late as possible Tue 13th, as long as it's before midnight, meaning stage 6 of the event can be completed over two days, the following Sunday and Monday. Unfortunately there maybe a short time to start this event! It maybe only open to start for 5 days. Keep an eye out for adverts to start the event and watch for a countdown to start. Once started the event can be run, even if it's closed to new racers.

FAQ

How can I service the car when I already finished the day?

If the final car service is missed, after the final event on the day, the soonest it can service is at midnight (local time), when the next stage opens.

When is the last time I can start this Event?

The exact date is unknown, normally 1 - 2 weeks.

The way FM display the date isn't very clear, they use a rounding factor. The days and hours remaining, to start, is changing at mid day or on the half hour. The closing date and time displayed is a cautious closing date and time. Keep an eye out for adverts to start the event and watch for a countdown to start. Once started the event can be run, even if it's closed to new racers.

Will this event be added to the race career?

FM went though a spell of adding special events to the racing career, the last time a special event was added was September 2015 v3.6, NASCAR Academy was added directly to the NASCAR career, without previously being released as a Time Limited Event (TLE). Previous to that was April 2015 v3.3, with Redline: Origins and MotorFiesta 1. It is therefore unlikely this event will be added to the racing career.

Will the car be available to win in the future?

The Mercedes-AMG GT3 is available to win if the challenge is completed in 6 days, after Dec 23rd the Mercedes-AMG GT3 can be purchased.

Can I buy the car?

The Mercedes-AMG GT3 is available in two series:

This vehicle was added in the Formula E Update (v5.0.0) released on December 13th 2016, and can be unlocked by earning 17 trophies in All-Out Attack or by completing the Victory by Design special event.

This vehicle can be acquired for 650 Icon Gold or 520 Icon Gold with showcase discount. It can sometimes be bought for ?? Icon Gold as a 'Get it Now' price, unlocking All-Out Attack.

For 6.2: I did 210 mph (338 kph) at the end of the first strait and hit the wall sideways to stop. I managed to pass Ahmed and Magnus in round 1 (had to do a clean race for the rest of the track).

6.3 was not so hard and 6.4 I did have a few bumps but I did not get red flagged.
