The intention of this page is to keep tips and FAQ for The Gauntlet (Season 2) in one place, which will hopefully help people race this event.


Description[]

The Gauntlet (Season 2) is an event in Real Racing 3. It gives the players a chance to win the FORD MUSTANG GT PREMIUM, after the Ford Update (v4.0.5) was released.

The event comprises a wide range of cars, especially the FORD MUSTANG GT PREMIUM, PORSCHE 911 TARGA (1974), DODGE CHALLENGER RT (1971), CHEVROLET COBALT SS & NISSAN SKYLINE GT-R V-SPEC (R34)

Each time the tips have improved. Unfortunately due to the way forum posts and blogs work, only the originator RR3 Michael P or Guillejarque can edit the first entry. Methods to slow bots down[]

 !  It is important not to lose a race in The Gauntlet (Season 2) only follow methods of slowing bots and PITing them  ! 


Start / End Strategy[]

This feature starts 11-Jan and runs for 5 days, there is no strategy to start late.

Cloud Save / Restore[]

During events you can use the Cloud Save and Restore feature to your advantage. Before you start every event, manually do a Cloud Save, if you lose do a cloud restore, this will save a long service after the longer, endurance, cup and NASCAR events.

Once you win do another cloud save before you continue the next event, see the FAQ on Firemonkey's website:

It is very important to wait for the screen to display last updated seconds (or minutes) ago. If you have a message stating backup failed, wait another minute, a wheel will turn in the bottom right corner, the message will show last updated seconds (or minutes) ago and Backup to Cloud button will be greyed out too.

If backup still failed, return to the login screen, log off, wait 10 seconds and log on once more, click continue, wait 30 seconds for the login to complete, then try to backup once more.

If you still have problems: log off, then turn aeroplane mode on, wait 10 seconds, turn aeroplane mode off, wait 30 seconds for the wifi to reconnect, login, click continue, wait 30 seconds for the login to complete, then try to backup once more.

The final thing to try, force close the RR3 app, then with the Wifi on, relaunch RR3, then try to backup once more. If this still doesn't work, the FM server is probably having problems, again.

You can also use this technique to save on spending with gold, for example if you want to spend 1 gold on the mechanic, if you win, the mechanic will be used and the car condition will be maintained, but if you don't come first the gold is lost and the car condition will be reduced, if you cloud restore the car will be returned to it previous state and the gold spend (or even free mechanic) returned.

Note: Before you cloud restore, it is important to login into the same Social Profiles you had previously connected to Real Racing, when cloud saving. Especially if multiple Social Profiles are used!


FAQ[]

Car Service[]

How can I service the car when I already finished the day?

The FORD MUSTANG GT PREMIUM can only be serviced on boss races, unless it has been purchased for 125 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted the other cars can be serviced anytime.


The Target is too High, How do I Reduce it?[]

Make sure you cloud save before you start and after a handful of failed attempts try a cloud restore and retry. Sometimes the AI is still reduced after the restore.

  • Try offline - if you've been online, you must do a force close too.
  • Try online - sometimes the AI target is different.
  • Try repeat, repeat , repeat, again lose by a big margin, don't come higher than 4th.
  • Try loosing by a big margin, but don't retry, instead complete and then re-enter the race - this takes more time but works.

Sorry this takes so much time, but the AI will reduce. With a cloud restore it's quicker than a long service!


The Game / Le Mans Keeps crashing[]

The feature started 11-Jan, and will automatically close 5 days later, 16-Jan @ 23:00 UTC.


Will this event be added to the race career?[]

This is a new feature; it is unlikely to be added to the career.


Will the car be available to win in the future?[]

The FORD MUSTANG GT PREMIUM is available to win if the challenge is completed in 5 days, the FORD MUSTANG GT PREMIUM can be purchased.


Can I buy the car?[]

The FORD MUSTANG GT PREMIUM is available in the Performance Rumble career series and in the V8 Muscle Hustle bonus series, part of Performance Rumble, which are both part of the Pro/Am group. It can be purchased for for 125 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted or 100 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted in its showcase

What is the minimum PR / upgrades required[]

I call BS on those claiming to have done it with R$ only. I've won every event by the smallest margin I could achieve (e.g. 20 m for Cup events, retrying if the margin was too big), and still had to fully upgrade my Skyline, and half of the gold upgrades on the Mustang, in order to barely pass a few challenges. Unless RR3 randomly determines the skill of the bots, I think one needs a lot of upgrades. Here's the full list of upgrades for the mustang:

I managed to finished season 2 with PR25.0 7/31 (all R$ upgrades), although it does depend on an element of luck, depending on the track the goals can appear near impossible, I found season 2 easier than season 1. On my BlueStacks device, I couldn't beat Magnus at Mt. Panorama, so had to restart the run. On my Shield device the hardest boss challenge was the second to last, Magnus @ Spa, after four attempts managed it, the last boss challenge at Monza was easy, in comparison. I enjoyed season 2.

  • Boss 4, Challenge 12. 1st 1:18.2 v 1:18.6 C. Kruger, used Challenger, complete guess as I had no race info, I should have used a stop watch on the phone, used 2 bars of damage, 3 remaining, serviced. Nurburgring Grand Prix , Autocross, win with no race info.

  2. 1st v L. Clark, used GT-R, reached 1st by turn 1, kept it, didn't play around with the bots this time, used 5 bars of damage, 8 remaining, serviced anyway (9 min). Elimination @ Circuit de Catalunya, Win … without traction control and with steering pulling right.

  2. 2nd 300 yds behind, couldn’t quite catch Magnus, but I was caught up in a crash at the start.

  4. 1st 7:16 v 7:17 Magnus, using FORD MUSTANG GT PREMIUM, extreme :(, reached 1st on lap 2 by cutting the grass at the last chicane, definitely made me a better driver, had a very clean last lap to maintain the lead, slowed by the line to reduce the gap, used 9 bars of damage, 0 remaining, serviced. 3 lap Cup @ Spa.   • Boss 9, Challenge 41. 1st 0:42.5 v 0:43.4 S. Kubota, used GT-R, took my time, no problem, used 1 bars of damage, 9 remaining. +5,140 pts, autocross @ Spa, Win this challenge without going off-track, colliding or skidding.
  • Boss 9, Challenge 42.
  1. 2nd 1:51 v 1:49, S. Kubota, used GT-R, didn’t pay attention at the start and speared left! Cloud restored.
  2. 1st 1:51 v 1:52, Z. Blanc, used GT-R, reached 1st about half way around, used 3 bars of damage, 6 red remaining, serviced. +5,230pts, 1 lap cup @ Dubai - International, win this challenge without traction control and with steering pulling left.
  • Boss 9, Challenge 43 (boss). 1st 5:36 v 5:49 Tan, difficulty Extreme, used FORD MUSTANG GT PREMIUM, cut the grass at turn 1, reached 4th, reached 1st by ~ turn 6, managed to PIT Magnus, didn't look back, used 12 bars of damage. Cup @ Monza - Road Course, Win.
