LoopGuy wrote:

Laguna Seca, 1 lap cup, driving Clio (unmodifiable), drive off track for at least 5 seconds. One opponent driving old Corvette.

Easy. I drove off track for the first 5 seconds, then got back on the track and easily caught and passed opponent. Had to wait at the last turn for him to catch up. 4 bars of service used.

Goal 1.2: Cup at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca [1 lap] - Complete a lap in the opposite direction before Ahmed completes his lap (using Renault Clio Cup with steering assist disabled)

LoopGuy wrote:

Laguna Seca, 1 lap cup, driving Clio (unmodifiable), drive 1 lap in reverse direction before opponent finishes on lap in normal direction.

Easy. For those who haven't driven Laguna Seca backwards, there is no need to slow down for the Corkscrew, just cut it a bit and the uphill will help you turn. Met the opponent head on, because I was accelerating downhill and he was accelerating uphill, so I figured I could get up to speed faster than he could. Should have waited at finish line for him, but I forgot where it was going backwards. 3 bars service used. Plenty of service left on the Clio (and with a 40 minute service time, didn't want to wait). I may service it after the 2nd time through with the other car.

Goal 1.3: Cup at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca [1 lap] - Win this event - Recommended PR46.1

LoopGuy wrote:

Laguna Seca, 1 lap cup, Holden, not updated. No special conditions.

Finally get to drive the Holden. Started 1st level upgrades (R$).

Easy race. Fell off the track once, but still had to wait at the last corner for opponents. 4 service bars used. I'm servicing for day 2 since I have the time to finish servicing before the next day's events open, but for the 2nd car, I'll keep going here.

Daytona road course - 3 lap cup - recommended pr 46.1

finish 3 laps or reach 182mph on any lap

comments: It is really a full lap speed snap.  No oppoents. Don't hit anything and take it easy until chicane.  I entered the chicane around 100mph constant speed, stood on the gas, and finished at 186mph.

service: 5 bars used

Goal 2.2: Win one of these events - Recommended PR46.7

LoopGuy wrote:

car: Holden 1111111 50.8 197mph, 3.47s, 145.9ft, 1.40g

Win either Endurance or Elimination on Daytona Road Course

Endurance was 6.1 miles, which is just past the chicane on the 2nd lap

Elimination was half way through the infield on 2nd lap, so considerably shorter

I did the Eliminiation. Easy.

8 bars used

Goal 2.3: Head To Head at Daytona International Speedway – Motorcycle Course [2 laps] - Win this event without going off-track - Recommended PR47.4

LoopGuy wrote:

head to head - 2 laps - daytona motorcycle course - recommended pr 47.4 - no off track

This was easier then expected. I passed the bot in the 1st corner. After that, I could brake early and go through the corners slower then necessary and accelerate early and the bot never tried to pass me.

8 bars used - now with 1 red bar left

Goal 2.4: Cup at Daytona International Speedway (Night) – Road Course [1 lap] - Win this event with only 5 litres of fuel - Recommended PR48.1

LoopGuy wrote:

car: Holden 1111111 50.8 197mph, 3.47s, 145.9ft, 1.40g

Daytona Road Course - 1 lap Cup - win lap only using 5 liters of fuel

One red bar of service left.

There are no opponents. There is no speed goal. You just have to finish the lap (probably with some fuel left).

Tilt B is probably necessary. Coast a lot. You can brake early (if you need to), and coast up to and through the corners. When you get back to the oval, I had 3 liters or so left. I accelerated until I had about 2 left, then I coasted to the final chicane. i then accelerated until I had about 0.2 left, and coasted to the finish line.

Comparing my failed attempts to my successful attempt, the winning techniques are: In the First turns, the turn back just off the oval, brake earlier, hit the apex and accelerate out of it soon.
Same for the next turn back, brake early aim in, get the apex, accelerate early out.
In the R/L S turn, brake early avoid skidding, avoid off track accelerate smooth out.
In the L/R S turn, same thing.
Bus stop, stay on the gas at the normal brake point. Cut the first corner, off the oval. Aim for the second R turn. Lift when already off track, Touch gas once back on track, lift, then back on gas, just after half the distance from the second R to the third R, then accelerate through the left (back onto the Oval) and through to the start/finish line.
This car acts like a slower Lotus Type 125. The tips for getting better times, seem to be the same.

Goal 4.2: Cup at Mount Panorama - Tailgate Cameron Waters[Ford]/Will Davison[Holden] within 58 yd (52 m) for the entire race rolling start - Recommended PR53.4

Jkmoore1120 wrote: At PR 56.4, my car was incredibly faster than the car I was following. The lead car brakes incredibly early. The race is compounded a bit by the bots being very racy and making foolish passes. 3 cars passed me during this event. The only real strategy here is to not block the other cars and just let them past as quickly as possible to avoid being wrecked.

Goal 4.3: Head To Head at Mount Panorama [1 lap] - Win this event - Recommended PR54.1

Jkmoore1120 wrote: Very easy. I was ahead of Magnus before the exit of the first turn and drove off from there.

Goal 4.4: Speed Record at Mount Panorama (Afternoon) [1 lap] Win this event without going off-track - - Recommended PR55.4

Use the wall before the s-curve to slow yourself down. I'm at 54.7 so I started using gc for tires and brakes. But the wall on the right allowed me to brake in plenty of time before the turn. I'm mad that I didn't try it before spending gc.

Jkmoore1120 wrote: Hitting the top speed is not the issue, it's getting the car stopped in time to not run off the track at the end of the Chase. One trick is to use the wall to slow the car down. My target speed was 195.x, when I watched RR Guru's video, his was 194.x. Either way, expect to need to hit 196 or so mph. The grass on the outside of the turn between the quick right hand bend and the sharp left hander down in the chase is not off-track, so just slam the car into the wall to get slowed down. FYI, I ran this without assists, when I did the next event with assists on just to relax, I was only able to get about 190mph down the Conrod Straight because of how the assists hit the brakes coming onto the Straight.

ChronicAvidness report: Car = Holden. I passed this with upgrades 1132211, PR 53.5. Only one Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted upgrade so far (cost: 44 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted). All assists off, tilt B. After reaching 314.56 kph on the back straight, slow down by braking and rubbing against the wall on the right hand side at the same time to slow down for the corner. The car is just wide enough to not get an off-track from this.

Goal 4.5: Cup at Mount Panorama (Afternoon) [2 laps] - Finish this event with an average speed of at least 124 mph (198 kph) without going off track (Rolling Start) - Recommended PR56.1

Jkmoore1120 wrote: I ran this event with Steering on High, Brakes on Low, and Tilt A just to relax. The race is "two laps" but has what amounts to a 1 lap rolling start. So 3 laps total. There is no requirement to win. You just have to meet the speed requirement. You will overtake a few cars, just make sure to overtake them very cleanly.

ChronicAvidness report: Car = Holden. Upgrades 1132211, PR 53.5. Only one Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted upgrade so far (cost: 44 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted). All assists off, tilt B. Just drive well. Turn 1 minimum speed 150 kph. Turn 2 165 kph. Turn 3 120 kph. The turn right before the long back straight is 128 kph. Used the same braking technique into the corner called "the chase" as 4.4 (rubbing against wall on right side). Finished 3 laps with average 204 kph.

Gin Tonyx: On the second time thru this challenge I managed a consistent laptime of 1:45 on these three laps. With upgrades 3332233. Should've spent less gold but it was discounted and will be handy within the Supercars_Championship..

Continue to follow methods to slow bots down

Goal 6.1: Cup at Mount Panorama [1 lap] - (Morning) - Warm up the tyres to 100% while maintaining position, rolling start - Recommended PR59.1

ChronicAvidness report: very easy to do, even pulled away from the car behind. Just complete the lap and you'll have 100% heat.

Goal 6.2: Cup at Mount Panorama [1 lap] - Stay in at least 10 place with an average of 124 mph 198 KPH without going off-track rolling start - Recommended PR59.1

ChronicAvidness report: Car = Holden. Upgrades 1132211, PR 53.5. Only one Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted upgrade so far (cost: 44 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted). All assists off, tilt B. Bonnet Cam. Finished with 200 kph average speed, race time was 1:57.1. Finished P5. Overtook 8th before the start of lap. Overtook 7th in turn 1. Overtook 6th in turn 2. Overtook 5th in turn 11. Used "rub the wall" method to brake into the chase (braked right after the kink and immediately rubbed against the wall). Need to service car again.

Gin Tonyx: staying in 9th position is not enough to beat the speed target. Have to pass a few cars, but no need to force anything. Look for clean passes. Coming in 5th behind Lowndes with 1:57.7 was more than enough.

Goal 6.3: Cup at Mount Panorama [1 lap] - Finished in first place without going off track, rolling start with 8.80 litres of fuel, Tilt B and brakes off - Recommended PR59.1

ChronicAvidness report: Car = Holden. Quite easy to do, 1 try and pass. Others shouldn't have much trouble with this either. If you have come this far without skipping, you have the skills to pass this. No need to save fuel really.

Gin Tonyx: at the start I had about 600m distance to 2nd. So just cruising. At the top of the mountain 3.5l fuel remaining, rolling down the hill was very easy (Upgrades: 3332233). Used the engineer to keep the car in the green.

Goal 6.4: Cup at Mount Panorama [3 laps] - Set the fastest lap and finish in 1st without going off-track - Recommended PR59.1

ChronicAvidness report: Car = Holden. Quite easy to do, 1 try and pass. Others shouldn't have much trouble with this either. If you have come this far without skipping, you have the skills to pass this.

Gin Tonyx: super easy with upgrades: 3332233. my best laptime: 1:47.7. Best opponent (Caruso) 1:53.9. Could've pushed harder.

Goal 6.5: Cup at Mount Panorama - goal? - Recommended PR??.?

ChronicAvidness report: Car = Holden. Also quite easy. I even pulled away from 2nd place despite having only PR 53.5. No need to save fuel really.

Day 6 - or simply Okuyama

  • 6-1 fully warmed up the tires and keep the seventh lap. Tire it will change from 0% to 100%, just to keep the seventh lap on the line
  • 6-2 scroll starting from ninth, without deviating from the track, and maintain a 124mph top ten. Need to choose the right time for overtaking, will crash if it was found by means of Friends of AI will be faster deceleration and cornering run easily over 125mph, the normal run quite easily had without departing from the track conditions and the amount of oil remaining *6-3 8.8L under the circumstances, the first to finish the race. Uphill straights in second place after my five hundred yards, with essentially full throttle instead of the first brake loose, over 5L oil consumed in the uphill stage about 2L oil consumed in the initial stage of the acceleration of the long slope, remaining at the end of 0.7 liters of oil (one-off)
  • 6-4 in the first start, and do not deviate from the track to achieve the fastest lap three laps to win the Cup. AI lap of 1: 49.1 three times 5: 36.579 really slow. . . I lap of 1: 46.029 5:29 three times (twice before, the first mistake)
  • 6-5 in the first start, give you 15L oil, so you beat the three times. Seemingly impossible, however, because the spacing between AI and AI is relatively large, so long as the combination of other car Dafa (one over, you do not use the front of his rear), is completely the remaining amount of oil 3L more

  • 6.2 finish at least 10th at or over 124 mph average
  1. I tried to maintain ninth place, but was too slow, I will have to make some progress! Cloud restored.

  1. 1st 2:08 v 2:09 Caruso I turned traction control off too and this was a big help finished with 0.4 litres of fuel no problem from Caruso, lifting very early into the bends and trying not to use the brakes at all, used 7 bar of damage, 1 red remaining, serviced.
  • 6.4 Set the fastest lap and no off-track
  1. 22nd 7:28 v Tander, I was just about to win, when three corners from the end I cut a corner and had a red flag :( I stopped the car and waited for everyone to pass this left a very slow down then cloud restored .
  2. 1st 6:29.6 v 6:33.3 Tander (#2) I held up the bots on the first two laps and then went for it on the third, I braked by the line, but due to the poor brakes on this car I crossed with 200 yards advantage, best lap 1:51 vs 2:07, used 0 bar of damage, as I used the free auto engineer.
  • 6.4 1st Without going off-track, win the Bathurst 1000, Rolling Start with 15 litres of fuel, tilt B and brake assist off
  1. 22nd 6:57 v 1st 5:53 Caruso, I'm going to struggle with this one as my device does not work well with tilt B. Had a practice over three laps, after having an off-track red flag, and deliberately set a slow lap hopefully the bots will be slowed slightly, used all bar damage 0 remaining, cloud restored
  2. 1st 5:55 v 5:56 Caruso, Unlock one panda managed to pass me going up the mountain but I managed to PIT him and gain 200 yards advantage, I then maintained that for the next two laps, it was a very close finish, I was almost tagged going into the last turn! I still had 1 litre of fuel remaining, my best lap was 1:54 vs Caruso lap of 1:53, used all bar seven red bars of damage serviced

Start / End Strategy

The player has 6 days to complete the 6 stages, the event is 6 days x 24 hours. The first stage will start the time the player starts it, the last stage will end 6 x 24 hours later. As stage 01 is normally straight forward and can be completed without an upgrade or service, it can be started late in the day, it doesn't matter if stage 01 isn't completed the first day, it can continue the following day. The next stage 02, will unlock at midnight providing stage 01 is completed, stage 03 will unlock at midnight the following day, and so on up to stage 6, in total there will be 6 x 24 hours = 144 hours to complete all stages.

RR3 Michael P wrote (pre-race tip):
I wouldn't recommend starting the event on the first day, Oct 4th, as many racers, who start as soon as the event opens, complain about bugs, which FM then fix! Instead leave the start a day or two and let other people do the bug testing. Also the tips and details can be filled in by the early adopters, so starting a day or two later gives a better heads up.

Ideally, for racers who are busy Monday to Friday and have the weekend free, the best day and time to start is as late as possible Mon, as long as it's before midnight, meaning stage 6 of the event can be completed over two days, the following Saturday and Sunday. The second car is also 6 stages over 6 days. Once started the event can be run, even if it's closed to new racers.

FAQ

How can I service the car when I already finished the day?

If the final car service is missed, after the final event on the day, the soonest it can service is at midnight (local time), when the next stage opens.

When is the last time I can start this Event?

The exact date is unknown, normally 1 - 2 weeks.

The way FM display the date isn't very clear, they use a rounding factor. The days and hours remaining, to start, is changing at mid day or on the half hour. The closing date and time displayed is a cautious closing date and time. Keep an eye out for adverts to start the event and watch for a countdown to start. Once started the event can be run, even if it's closed to new racers.

Will this event be added to the race career?

FM went though a spell of adding special events to the racing career, the last time a special event was added was September 2015 v3.6, NASCAR Academy was added directly to the NASCAR career, without previously being released as a Time Limited Event (TLE). Previous to that was April 2015 v3.3, with Redline: Origins and MotorFiesta 1. It is therefore unlikely this event will be added to the racing career.

Will the car be available to win in the future?

The Ford Falcon FG X and HOLDEN Commodore VF are available to win if the challenge is completed in ## days, after ##-### the Ford Falcon FG X and HOLDEN Commodore VF can be purchased.

Can I buy the car?

The Ford Falcon FG X and HOLDEN Commodore VF are both available in the Supercars Championship career series part of the Elite category and the Supercars: Holden vs Ford bonus series part of the Elite category. These vehicles were added in the Bathurst Update (v4.6.2) released in September 2016 and can be unlocked by earning ?? trophies in Supercars Championship or by earning ?? trophies in Supercars: Holden vs Ford [??OR?? is unlocked as soon as Supercars: Holden vs Ford is unlocked] or by completing the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 special event.

These vehicles can be acquired for 650 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted each, or 520 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted with showcase discount.

What is the minimum PR / upgrades required

RR3 Michael P wrote (pre-race):
Since Generations, if the players car is far below the recommended PR level the bots run impossible times. Once the car is upgraded the bots return to normal times. Slowing the bots works, only when the PR requirements are close. Some goals have fixed top bots. Possible upgrade strategies:

100% Completion Strategy

holden can get to PR 63 for 738GC (5443333)

ford needs 748 GC (5433334)

both cars can get to PR 62 for 603 GC (5333343) but this clashes with the PR63 plan.

for those (like me) who don't seek 100% and are only chasing one car there is a path to exactly PR 62.0 for 633 GC that includes all the handling and braking upgrades (5333244). works for both cars.

Ford would have a slight edge in braking with this upgrade path. Holden would have slight edge in the other categories. Emphasis on slight.
