Tips and FAQ History

This is the fourth iteration of a tips and FAQ page:

Each time the tips have improved. Unfortunately due to the way forum posts and blogs work, only the originator RR3 Michael P or Guillejarque can edit the first entry. With Tips and FAQ for Light-Rider anyone can edit this page, hopefully this will lead to many more editors adding useful content for everyone’s benefit.

General Tips

Strategy

Real Racing 3 is a massive game designed by FireMonkeys (FM) to make you want to spend real money on R$ and Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted. Many in this Wikia community have posted comments what they have managed to reach the end of the game without spending any real money. The bottle neck currency is Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted. Methods to slow bots down

Track Recommended method to slow bots Damage Taken
Autocross Each time you run an Autocross event, set a slow time of of 4th or less, either retry or continue and re-enter. If you retry ignore the bot's names, that splash up before the race, they will be changed at the end of the race, you will notice, after each time of running, the target time is increased. If continuing doesn't increase the bot's time try repeating and vice a versa.

Do not set a low time at the line, tilt B will give better control to coast before the line, if you are too quick or brake and wait at the line, smashing the time will increase the AI.
Minimal
Cup
& NASCAR
As soon as the race starts, pause, retire, confirm, either retry or continue and re-enter, if you retry ignore the bot's names, that splash up before the race, they will be changed at the end of the race. Also ignore the bots times on the final screen too, they are based on an average lap time, as you quit their times are based on a standing start, as an average. Instead use the times as a guide, with each retry or continue the bots times should increase. If continuing doesn't lower the bot's time try repeating and vice a versa.

OR If you have a broken car run the race a few times, each time you lose you will still get R$ and Fame, place 4th or less, repeating or continuing and re-entering will lower the bot's.

Once ready to go, get to 1st place as quickly as possible and try to slow the bot's down, either spin them out or park in sharp bends / chicanes and stop them passing. By setting a low time, but still coming first, it's still possible to still lower the AI of bots, think about a Time Trial time, if you set a set a slow time it lowers the AI.

Minimal /None.
Drag Race Start the race, press go and leave the car is first gear, do not click repeat, as this will repeat the current race, against the same bot, instead choose continue, then either retry or continue and re-enter. You will see the opponents will change to lower ones.

Once ready to go, don't undo the lowing work by setting a fast time, instead use the gears to slow the car, once passed the bot go up through the gears, but watch the bot doesn't speed up / close the gap, or if close to the line go down a gear to brake.
Minimal
Elimination Elimination events are one of the best opportunities to lower the bots AI, deliberately lose a few times, do not move at the start (Tilt B), wait for the 20 second timer to run out, then repeat or continue and re-enter. You will see the opponent will change to lower ones. If you retry ignore the bot's names, that splash up before the race, they will be changed at the end of the race.

Once ready to go, get to first place and slow the bots as per the cup event.
None
Endurance Endurance events are one of the best opportunities to lower the bots AI deliberately lose a few times, change the controls to Tilt B, when the lights go green do not move, wait for the timer to count down the 60 seconds. Either retry or continue and re-enter. If you retry ignore the bot's names, that splash up before the race, they will be changed at the end of the race. Note the distance is reducing each time. If continuing doesn't lower the bot's distance try repeating and vice a versa. It's possible to get all 7 bots distance to 1.0 mi.

Another point, the online and offline bots can wildly vary on Endurance races, especially with fiends distance'. It's normally much better to race Endurance races offline, before going to the Endurance event go offline (aeroplane mode), if you've already started an Endurance race online, exit back to the main menu, if your logged into FB / G+ / Weibo, goto settings and logout, then force close, go offline and relaunch RR3, bots should now be offline ones.

Once ready to go, don't undo the lowing work by setting a good distance, instead once passed the 1st marker, park up (tilt B) and wait for the timer to count down.
None
Head To Head As soon as the race starts, pause, retire, confirm, either retry or continue and re-enter. Repeat multiple times, ignore the bot's time on the final screen, it is based on an average lap time, you can use it as a guide that the bot's time is reducing.

Once ready to go, don't undo the lowing work by setting a good time, instead once in 1st place, use the same technique as cup events, slow the bot down. Quite often a single bot will not push you once stopped, so you can easily hold it up for 20 seconds, then go for it. Wait at the line to reduced the time set, but still win.
1 lap of damage /None
Hunter As soon as the race starts, pause, retire, confirm, either retry or continue and re-enter, repeat multiple times, each time you repeat the distance to the 1st place will increase.

Once ready to go, don't undo the lowing work by setting a good distance, instead once passed the 1st place marker, slow down and maintain a small distance advantage ahead, when near the line slow to reduce the distance, but still win. It's also possible to spin out the NISSAN SILVIA (S15) to reach 1st, but be careful not to set a top distance. Final point, the NISSAN SILVIA (S15) can be on a different section as track from you, e.g. If 1st place marker is 1,000 yds behind. The NISSAN SILVIA (S15) could be going flat out down a straight while you’re in a hairpin or chicane, so the 1st place marker is going 1,000 yds behind the NISSAN SILVIA (S15), but travels at the same speed so doesn't slow for the chicane! The worst tracks have chicanes before the finish line, like Spa or Le Mans, learn from any losses, track knowledge will help in future events, sometimes waiting by the line is better, but be aware your stopped and 1st place marker could be going 120 MPH.
1 lap of damage /None
Time Trial Set a slow time, in a Series this event's cup does not count towards continuing your race career (i.e. it does not unlock the next Series). However it does count towards completing 100% of the Series.

Running a time trial with a broken car will therefore take no damage and lower the AI of bots.

Note: If you play against friends do not be tempted to upgrade your car and set faster times, as this will increase the AI of bots, you could always do this once you've bought all cars :)
1 lap of damage /None
Speed Record As soon as the race starts, pause, retire, confirm, either retry or continue and re-enter. Note the bot's time is reducing. If continuing doesn't lower the bot's speed try repeating and vice a versa.

Once ready to go, don't undo the lowing work by setting a high top speed, brake as soon as you hit 1st place's speed.

If your still struggling to reach first place, the start finish straight is normally the longest straight, you can do a U turn and drive the wrong way around the track, so once around the last turn, do another U turn, and blast down the straight, with all assists off, it doesn't matter if you fly off track at turn one. If the start/finish straight isn't the longest you can still use the no assists method to hit the top speed, again it doesn't matter if you fly off track. However once you reach 1st place brake, so you don't increase the AI of bots. In special events challenges there is quite often a no off track clause to stop this technique, forcing you to upgrade to hit the required speed.
Minimal /None
Speed Snap Speed Snaps are the same "parts of tracks" as Autocross, except you must hit a top speed at the line so set a top speed of 4th or less, the lower the better, then either retry or continue and re-enter. Note the top speed's are reducing each time. If continuing doesn't lower the bot's speed try repeating and vice a versa.

Once ready to go, do not set a high top speed at the line, tilt B will give better control to feather the throttle once at the 1st place' speed, this takes a bit of practice, smashing the top speed will increase the AI.

Start / End Strategy

The player has 7 days to complete the 7 stages, the event is 7 days x 24 hours. The first stage will start the time the player starts it, the last stage will end 7 x 24 hours later. As stage 01 is normally straight forward and can be completed without an upgrade or service, it can be started late in the day, it doesn't matter if stage 01 isn't completed the first day, it can continue the following day. The next stage 02, will unlock at midnight providing stage 01 is completed, stage 03 will unlock at midnight the following day, and so on up to stage 7, in total there will be 7 x 24 hours = 168 hours to complete all stages.

You need to choose the best time for you to start Light-Rider event, or more importantly when is the best time for you to end the event!

RR3 Michael P wrote (pre-race tip):
I wouldn't recommend starting the event on the first day, Monday 18 July:

  1. Many racers, who start as soon as the event opens, complain about bugs, which FM then fix! Instead leave the start a day or two and let other people do the bug testing.
  2. The tips and details can be filled in by the early adopters, so starting a day or two later gives a better heads up.
  3. Recently FM have offered discount sales for upgrades, give the cost for upgrades, holding on for a few days, before upgrading, is a good idea. Update: 60% Discount on customization starting July 18 for 3 days.

Ideally, for racers who are busy Monday to Friday and have the weekend free, the best day and time to start is as late as possible Sunday 24th, as long as it's before midnight, meaning stage 7 of the event can be completed over two days, the following Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately there maybe a short time to start this event! It is only open, to start, for 1 week ~24-July latest, once started the event can be run, even if it's closed to new racers.

Cloud Save / Restore

See the Firemonkeys website for full details on cloud save:

Firemonkeys.com.au Cloud Save FAQ

Firemonkey wrote:
Real Racing 3 automatically uploads your save data to the Cloud Servers once every 12 Hours. This means that if you have lost your save data, you can easily restore your previous game progress (including your purchases) and also transfer this save data between devices using the Cloud Save feature.

During events you can use the Cloud Save and Restore feature to your advantage. Before you start every event, manually do a Cloud Save, if you lose do a cloud restore, this will save a long service after the longer, endurance, cup and NASCAR events.

Once you win do another cloud save before you continue the next event, see the FAQ on Firemonkey's website:

It is very important to wait for the screen to display last updated seconds (or minutes) ago. If you have a message stating backup failed, wait another minute, a wheel will turn in the bottom right corner, the message will show last updated seconds (or minutes) ago and Backup to Cloud button will be greyed out too.

If backup still failed, return to the login screen, log off, wait 10 seconds and log on once more, click continue, wait 30 seconds for the login to complete, then try to backup once more.

If you still have problems: log off, then turn aeroplane mode on, wait 10 seconds, turn aeroplane mode off, wait 30 seconds for the wifi to reconnect, login, click continue, wait 30 seconds for the login to complete, then try to backup once more.

The final thing to try, force close the RR3 app, then with the Wifi on, relaunch RR3, then try to backup once more. If this still doesn't work, the FM server is probably having problems, again.

You can also use this technique to save on spending with gold, for example if you want to spend 1 gold on the mechanic, if you win, the mechanic will be used and the car condition will be maintained, but if you don't come first the gold is lost and the car condition will be reduced, if you cloud restore the car will be returned to it previous state and the gold spend (or even free mechanic) returned.

Note: Before you cloud restore, it is important to login into the same Social Profiles you had previously connected to Real Racing, when cloud saving. Especially if multiple Social Profiles are used!

FAQ

How can I service the car when I already finished the day?

If the final car service is missed, after the final event on the day, the soonest it can service is at midnight (local time), when the next stage opens.

The Target is too High, How do I Reduce it?

When the speed or time or distance is too high or fast or long, there are several things that can be done to reduce the target

Make sure you cloud save before you start and after a handful of failed attempts try a cloud restore and retry the next method. Sometimes the AI is still reduced after the restore.

  • Try offline - if you've been online, you must do a force close too.
  • Try online - sometimes the AI target is different.
  • Try repeat, repeat , repeat, again lose by a big margin, don't come higher than 4th.
  • Try losing by a big margin, but don't retry, instead complete and then re-enter the race - this takes more time but works.

Sorry this takes so much time, but the AI will reduce. With a cloud restore it's quicker than a long service!

For example, I tried 11 times to reach 1st place:

The Game / Le Mans Keeps crashing

RR3 Michael P wrote:
If you are having problems loading Le-Mans: Le Mans is the biggest data track to load, close the game, go off line (aeroplane mode), try a complete shutdown (hold the power for 10 seconds, I think), then start back up, launch the game and turn the Heads-up Display (HUD) off. This helps on my Hudl.

I read a post suggesting using the RR3 Graphics app (AKA RR3 GFX) available from the Google Play Store, (then automatically updating it from their website). The poster advised Le Mans used to crash, but when the graphics is set low, using this app, it loads and plays fine:

When is the last time I can start this Event?

The last start date is ~24-July. The way FM display the date isn't very clear, they use a rounding factor. The days and hours remaining, to start, is changing at mid day or on the half hour. The closing date and time displayed is a cautious closing date and time. Once started the event can be run, even if it's closed to new racers.

The Gauntlet (Season 7) is estimated ~1-August.

Will this event be added to the race career?

FM went though a spell of adding special events to the racing career, the last time a special event was added was September 2015 v3.6, NASCAR Academy was added directly to the NASCAR career, without previously being released as a Time Limited Event (TLE). Previous to that was April 2015 v3.3, with Redline: Origins and MotorFiesta 1. It is therefore unlikely this event will be added to the racing career.

Will the car be available to win in the future?

The LOTUS TYPE 125 is available to win if the challenge is completed in 7 days, after July 25 the LOTUS TYPE 125 can be purchased from the Exos Experience bonus series part of the Elite group.

Can I buy the car?

The LOTUS TYPE 125 is available in the Exos Experience bonus series part of the Elite group. This vehicle was added in the Lotus Update (v4.4.1) released in June 2016 and can be unlocked by unlocking Exos Experience or by completing the Light-Rider special challenge.

This vehicle can be acquired for 880 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted.

Quote Natalia

This turns out to be nearly 3 laps. I was on the brake almost right after the start.

I'm learning to make obtuse (>90 degrees) angle turns, just a quick lift and brake tap turns the 125, so throttle can be reapplied very quickly. More acute (<90 degree) angle turns, I'm learning new brake points, closer to the apex.

On the turn that joins the long straight, Ahmed can be stopped and slowed. Even with no upgrades, either you can remain in the lead, or catch him on or after the Parabolica. I found a dark line or shadow across the track, after the red rumble strip is a good brake point going into the Parabola. I am braking after the start/finish, after the sign over the track and 1.5 to 2 light poles after that sign. (Disclaimer: I don't own any race cars, yet, so maybe I'm learning things that other racers already know.)

R$1,858,087 631GC

3.1 – Speed Record at Hockenheim, no brake assist, Recommended PR 100.4. Goal 172.1 – Won 1st attempt with 173.18 mph. No problem since I’m over the recommended PR currently. Did go off-track a few times though, not used to no brake assist with this car.

3.2 – 4 Lap Cup at Hockenheimring National, must be at least 3rd after 1st lap, worse than 3rd at the end of the 2nd lap, then finish 1st, Recommended PR 101.2 – Used Mechanic here since it’s a 4 lap race. 1st lap, I got to 1st place and took out the 1st place bot and generally slowed the bots as well, 2nd place after 1st lap. 2nd lap, I slowed the bots much of the lap as well, then dropped back to 4th in the final turns before the end of the 2nd lap, used last two laps to get to 1st, PIT the lead bot then slow and allow the next bot to catch up and repeat. Finished in 1st place with a 7yd lead at 5:37.902 with Nielsen in 2nd at 5:38.157.

3.3 – 1 Lap Cup at Hockenheimring National, Drive the opposite direction and reach a speed of 170 mph and finish within 1:25 (only car on the track, not a true Cup really), Recommended PR 102.1 - 1st attempt, reached 170 mph fairly easily, but did not finish within 1:25. 2nd attempt, I finished easily within the 1:25, I even slowed at the end and ended up crossing the line at 1:24.508.

3.4 - 3 Lap Cup at Hockenheimring National, just win, no restrictions, Recommended PR 103.2 - Was in 1st place about ¾ through the 1st lap, spent the rest of the race Pitting bots and slowing them down. Finished in 1st about 10yds ahead of 2nd with a time of 4:04.368 and with Nielsen in 2nd at 4:04.611

Goal 3.1

speed snap - I have 7 ugrades and easily did this on the back straight without having to optimize the previous turn or go off track at the next turn. Be careful not to go too much faster then required. Use cloud save and restore if you do.

Goal 3.2

Was in 3rd at the start of the 2nd lap (cut the first few corners to pass lots of cars), let the 3rd place car go ahead and was in 4th at the start of the 3rd lap, During the 4th (and last lap), the lead car started lapping traffic, slowed way down, and was easy to pass. Slowed down a lot in the last few corners to let the 2nd place car get closer.

Servicing car before goal 3.3

Goal 3.3

Don't worry about the speed requirement. You'll hit that on the back straight easy (ate least with 9 upgrdeas). Just learn the track backwards and make 1:25. I watched myself in videos to see what I had messed up.

Goal 3.4

Cut corners to pass cars, but this car definitely likes being on track otherwise, so don't go off track except to cut corners. A good run off the first turn, cutting the first corner without lifting, gets you up to the top 10. I think I was 7th after the second corner, 3rd after the first lap.

Haven't really seen any tips by anyone, so here is my tip for 4.3.

Stay left at start. I usually ride the inside of the corners on most events (which is usually the right side), but there is too much slow traffic, so stay left and just inside the out of bounds. Once I made this change, it was much easier.

Racer KCain10r wrote:
I found to get the average, I had to run up to the acute angled turn, just before the start/finish line, faster than I am usually comfortable doing. First, this car can stay on the track in the straighter turns—flat out, and second, it can slow before the sharper turn, a lot closer than I'm used to slowing.

4.2 - Cup 3 laps rolling start on back straight - Dubai Autodrome Hill - 105.6 - Win with a qualifying time of less then 2:22 - Cut all the wiggles at the end of the back straight

4.3 - Cup 4 laps - Dubai Autodrome Oval - 106.7 - Reach an average speed of 101 mph (162 kph) at the end of any lap without going off track - no need to win, and it stops as soon as you reach the target speed at the line. I had to turn on traction control for this one, but managed to complete it after 2 laps. I found the speed first, then I went back and kept it on the track.

4.4 - Cup 3 laps - National - 107.9 - Straightforward cup. I've been cutting the wiggles when it turns away from the GP circuit.

Car – 9/28, PR 104.0 1121211

Tilt A, Assists Low, TC on, unless otherwise specified

R$1,983,881 670GC

5.1 – Hunter at Nurburgring Sprint Circuit, PR 109.1 – Goal +1,121yds, won easily 1st attempt with +1155yds

5.2 – 1 Lap Cup at Nurburgring Sprint Circuit, must get from 11th to 1st in 11seconds, PR 110.2 – Rolling Start, won 1st attempt, but it was a little close. Was running out of time when the 1st place car was coming up and my brake assist kicked in too, but I managed to catch the lead just in time apparently. If I failed that time, I was planning to disable brake assist and plow into the corner to get the lead. Race ends as soon as you pass for 1st place (or run out of time I suppose).

5.3 – 4 Lap Cup at Nurburgring Sprint Circuit, Lap every opponent (21 of them), PR 111.4 – I hired the mechanic to keep from having to service before 5.4. Took several attempts, I tried a handful of times (some with TC off) and kept finishing with around 15-17 cars lapped, just couldn’t get past that. Started adding GC upgrades and I’d get slightly better, but not enough. Eventually I added 5 Tier 2 GC upgrades (Engine, Drivetrain, Suspension, Brakes, & Tires&Wheels) and kicked off their follow-on R$ upgrades (now sitting at 14/28, PR 108.0). This made all the difference, on this attempt (still with TC off), I already had 14/21 cars lapped by the end of Lap 3. I caught up to the 2nd place car (Santos) at the end of the long final straight near the finish and the race ended as soon as I overtook him.

5.4 - Head to Head, 2 Laps at Nurburgring Sprint Circuit, race like a Hunter event, but once you catch up to the Silvia, turn around and complete a full lap before the Silvia completes its 2nd lap. Brake and Steering Assist are disabled as well, PR 112.6 - Won on 2nd attempt, 1st try I was having a bad time of it with no assists, went off-track a few times and figured I’d already lost, so force-quit & restart. 2nd try, turned TC back on and had a much better go. Caught up to the Silvia quicker than expected and then turned around and raced my reverse lap. I actually even waited for the Silvia at the end of my lap and finished just ahead of it. Much easier than 5.3.

Toughest Stage so far for me, though only because of 5.3, the others were pretty easy actually. I'm happy with it considering I'm still 4.6PR below the recommended. I did have to add 5 GC upgrades, but I was expecting to have to anyhow, and with the following 5 R$ upgrades, I’m hoping that will give me a high enough PR to win this car. I am OK with 272GC if that’s what it ends up being.

Cannot achieve first place, so hire no engineer. In third lap, if you make it near the opposite start/finish line around the time the leading competitor completes their 4th(?) lap, you are on pace to win. Race fast, smart and minimize slow (off track and skidding) and you will be waiting at the finish line, listening for engines behind you.

The Grand Prix Circuit, Win this race without going off track for more than 6 seconds. I knew just where I would spend my off track time - cutting the slow chicanes. The first lap won't be the fastest. There is traffic. Make your way to second or third by the end of the lap. Find your fast sections of Silverstone and blow through them and if you're lucky, before the end of the 2nd or 3rd lap, you can do a little bot slowing. Careful, conservative slowing. You can stop 2nd position, but 3rd and 4th will come around quickly. My setup was still 111.2 (3322233) All assists off, Tilt B.

In 6.1, it only says you have to complete 2 laps. It says nothing about winning. Therefore, feel free to cut the chicane and go off track anywhere it is faster (or as fast), as it will lower your overall distance.

So with 14 upgrades (all level 2), I found 6.1 fairly easy. Sure, I barely finished it on my 2nd try, but 2nd try is quick for me these days (I had more trouble with 5.4).

More reports later.

Starting Stats

Car – 14/28, PR 108.0 2222222

Tilt A, assists Low, TC on, unless otherwise specified

R$769,659 412GC

6.1 – Endurance at Silverstone, PR 113.6 – Must complete 2 laps, Goal 6.6 mi, 2 laps equals over 7 mi, so the 6.6 mi goal doesn’t matter anyhow. Won 1st attempt, ran out of time right at the finish line on the 2nd lap, wasn’t my cleanest race.

6.2 – 2 lap Cup at Silverstone, must pass 1 car in 10sec, then win, PR 113.6 – Hired mechanic (probably should have for 6.1 also), won 1st attempt, race starts near a corner, so that helps to overtake, then went on to win without much trouble. I even took out the 2 bots behind me once I made it to 1st.

6.3 – 5 Lap Cup at Silverstone, complete 4 laps before the opponents complete 5. Opponents are in LMP1 cars, PR 113.6 – Even though you technically lose this race, if you buy the mechanic, you will still have your condition maintained when you pass the level. I bought the mechanic by mistake and was surprised to see my condition maintained even though I was in 4th place. I won on my 2nd attempt due to a dumb mistake the first time. I decided to try to wait for the 1st place car before finishing my 4th lap and I misjudged it and was passed. 2nd attempt, no problem, finished the 4 laps without the bots even in sight. I meant to slow and wait again, but I accidently crossed the line.

This race just shows how messed up the PR figures are for many of the cars these days. A dedicated race car with a PR significantly higher than even a fully-upgraded LMP1 car, I wouldn't think those LMP1's should pull away quite like that honestly. The LOTUS has similar acceleration, better handling, and better braking than any LMP1 car (even fully upgraded). But in this race, the LMP1's pull away like I'm driving a Silvia lol. Despite them having a PR some 15+ points below my LOTUS. Apparently on Silverstone, top speed is a huge advantage. Just a funny observation.

6.4 - 5 Lap Cup at Silverstone, win without going off-track for more than 6sec, PR 113.6 - My 5 remaining R$ upgrades completed while I was racing 6.3, so now I am at 19/28, PR 112.0. 1st attempt, won without much drama, finished in 8:18.958 vs. Tan in 2nd at 8:19.620 and I had 2.2sec off-track out of the 6sec allowed. I was in 1st place late on the 2nd lap and after that I spent the next few laps drawing in bots and spinning them out, Silverstone is a good track for this with plenty of straights. On the last lap, I held my place and just made sure not to screw up. I slowed at the end to allow 2nd place to catch up and won with about a 25yd lead.

Stage 6 was a breeze for me, only had to re-race 1 event and that was due to my dumb mistake. Since the recommended PR stayed level throughout this Stage, it seems likely that the Chinese prediction of a final PR of 114.8 may be accurate, assuming they raise it and keep it level across the whole Stage like today. Considering that, I am confident that I can win Stage 7 with my current upgrade level.

Continue to follow methods to slow bots down

Goal 7.1: Elimination at Daytona International Speedway - Motorcycle Course - Win this event without damaging your car. Recommended PR 113.6.

Racer KCain10r wrote:
Stay right and behind the fanned out pack in the first sharp turn. When they regroup, pass and turn quickly. Get ahead of Ahmed and keep ahead of him, if possible, because it is possible to stop the remainder of the pack and hold them up some at the second time around the first sharp turn. Seven bars of service used. My PR 112, 3323233.

Goal 7.2: Head To Head at Daytona International Speedway - Motorcycle course - Do a lap in the opposite direction before your opponent completes 1 lap. Recommended PR 113.6.

Racer KCain10r wrote:
Figure out a quick way to reverse course. One way is to jam the wall with brake and right steer, then keep brake on and left steer, until turned enough, then throttle. Racers can ram Ahmed when he is met on the back side, and this will cost more damage (seven bars used). My PR 112.0 3323233.

I posted this in the main forum, but for those who only come here I'll repeat. 7.2 is the only challenge. (android, 122.9pr). It is doable. I finally won after 20-30 retries/practices by a bit over a second. What I found was you needed to practice going backwards. I turned off steering assists as it really screws up the initial j-turn, and fights you the whole way with steering assist on. The two keys for me to nail it were:

1 The very start; I needed to practice braking quickly and spinning around as soon as the lights went green. The camera in the out of car view is slow to catch up with you, so you're driving blind for a bit...

2 You need to cut the infield at the back straight chicane which took several practice runs to learn to stay on the grey for long enough (past the point the chicane enters the track again), when to lift, and going through the least amount of grass/ keeping going straight.

Then it was just a matter of restoring the save and lots of retrys with an unserviced car to get the finer points of the backwards line. I tried hitting the oncoming car, but my sense is it only cost me, he just soldiered on.

All others in 7 were straigtforward, and accomplished with good driving. I find I tend to get over eager, and brake too late. When I calm down and "go slow to go fast" I win. In 7.3-5 the bots weren't too chippy, but of course often had super human speeds out of the hole, and on the straights. They would sometimes harry you coming into braking zones, but just drive wide and hold your line.

Goal 7.3: Cup at Daytona International Speedway - Road Course - Win this event. Recommended PR 113.6.

Racer KCain10r wrote:
It may be advisable to use the engineer to preserve service for the final goal. First time through first sharp turn, brake late. Braking between the last hash mark (2/3 to 3/4 of the way) and the double yellow line. Braking still at the apex, but not skidding. The 125 tracks around it. If racing below recommended PR, get ahead of Michael before the final leg to the start finish, then block him. He will be faster. Due to engineer, no service used. My PR 112.0 3323233.

Goal 7.4: Cup at Daytona International Speedway - Road Course - Win without going off-track for more than 3 seconds. Recommended PR 113.6.

Racer KCain10r wrote:
Brake late and minimize skid and slide on the two sharpest turns. Get through the bus stop quickly. Get ahead of Michael before the last leg of the last lap and the car is won! A strategy is to crash Michael in the final sharp turn onto the banked oval. My finish time for the race; 7:18.265. Rest of service used. My PR 112.0 3323233.

7.1 – Elimination at Daytona Motorcycle course, no damage, PR 113.6 – Took me a few tries because I kept managing to damage the car. Not hard, I was just making mistakes.

7.2 – Head to Head at Daytona Motorcycle, must turn around and race in reverse and beat the opponent to the finish line, PR 113.6 – Took me a lot of tries just due to not being familiar with the track. I kept going off-track and losing a ton of time. But, even then, I’d only lose by a 1–2 seconds. I knew if I could get a decent lap in without skidding or going off-track, I’d be fine and I was right.

7.3 – 3 Lap Cup at Daytona Road Course, just win, no restrictions, PR 113.6 – Race is against 8 opponents, Michael is the lead driver, took me a few attempts as I couldn’t get a good enough start to catch up to Michael before he pulled away. Eventually, I turned off TC and that helped. Once I caught up to Michael, I spun him out and then turned TC back on. I didn’t have much trouble maintaining the lead after that. I slowed at the end to win with a 6yd lead. I finished at 4:23.093 to Dumitru in 2nd at 4:23.269, Michael finished in 5thJ

7.4 - 5 Lap Cup at Daytona Road Course, win without going off-track for more than 3sec, PR 113.6 - This one also took me a few attempts. I couldn’t get a good enough start to make me happy. When I finally did catch up to Michael on the 1st lap (and spun him out in the same place as 7.3), I realized that I probably could have won even with one of my poorer starts previously. The bots did not seem as fast (for me) on 7.4 as they were on 7.3. In any case, it was a pretty uneventful race, I got the lead and raced full-out since there was no need to slow the bots at this point. I finished with a time of 7:09.900 with an 850yd lead over 2nd 9Baker) who finished at 7:21.840.

Stage 7 wasn’t too tough overall, despite my retries. Speed-wise, I felt like my PR 112 car was a good match for the bots, I probably could have even gotten by with fewer upgrades. i was expecting the final PR to be 114.8 as was predicted by the Chinese site. pleasantly surprised it was lower (and that they kept the PR the same for 2 Stages). However, since the final 5 upgrades I did were all R$ upgrades, all I’d have saved was R$, which isn’t a big concern to me. But, there may be other configurations of upgrades which will probably work and would cost less GC.

  • 7.1 Elimination @ Daytona – Motorcycle - Win this event without collisions, recommended PR 113.6.
  1. 5th & red flag for damage, used 8
  2. 4th reached 2nd then went wide at the final chicane. Used 8
  3. 1st v Ahmed , outside turn 1, stay right and then inside turn 4, and I was in 1st, maintained the lead, used 7 bar of damage, 0 remaining, serviced.
  • 7.2 H2H - Daytona – Motorcycle - Win this event in the opposite direction, recommended PR 113.6.
  1. Failed, reached turn 1, more practise needed. Used 8
  2. Failed, half way between turn 1 and the finish line. Used 7
  3. Failed, almost made it this time, used 7, serviced, watch videos to reduce time.
  4. 1st 1:24.7 v Ahmed, much better run, I braked at the start, almost to a stop (rolling start), then U turned, went over the chicane, then tried to keep on track and not skid, I made it with maybe 1 or 2 seconds to spare. I turned all assists off. Used 7 bar of damage.
  • 7.3 lap Cup @ Daytona – Road - Win this event, recommended PR 113.6
  1. 1st 4:20.3 v 4:20.9 Michael, made it first time, made a change :) I used the same method as the 7.1 Elimination, in 3rd by turn 4, eventually passed Michael at the infield, he was fast on the straights, also slow in and fast out has never been truer, used 17 bar of damage, 0 remaining, serviced.
  • 7.4 5 lap Cup @ Daytona – Road - Win this event without going off track for more than 3 seconds, recommended PR 113.8,
  1. 2nd 7:18 v 7:13 Michael, I managed to catch Michael, but was unable to pass, I must have taken damage, as he pulled away on the straights, I did rear end one bot. Used all bars, cloud restore.
  2. Wide at turn 1, red flag, quit and retry.
  3. 1st 7:09 v 7:16 Michael, much cleaner lap, I passed most of the field by the first 4 turns, passed Michael in the infield on lap 2, then took it a easy, as I didn’t want to skid off track, used 24 bar of damage, 0 remaining, serviced.

Stage 7 was the most difficult, as it should be, it took a few practice attempts, before getting to goal, improving my driving, there was a Daytona WTTT in a F1 car, maybe a month or two ago, so handling was fine. I enjoyed the last day. I've won the LOTUS TYPE 125, with only 43 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted spend in 7 days.

LoopGuy report:

What worked for me on 7.2 was tilt B no assists cockpit view (so the camera doesn't lag). As the lights come on, my left thumb is on the brakes. Once I slowed down enough (maybe 30 mph, or 50kph, but I'm not sure because I won this so easily and quickly, I didn't have time to prefect the turn), I let go of the brake and turned hard left. Once I was mostly around, I put my right thumb on the gas and straightened out the phone. Because I wasn't braking or accelerating, it kept a decent speed throughout the turn and was already moving. Of course, after you get the car going straight again, you can pause and switch back to the settings you like (although running this one without assists may be faster). I was already upgraded to 117.2 at this point, but the turn should work for everyone. The rest of the stuff was as other people said.

Overall, day 7 was really hard for me until, now that I had a green recommended PR, I spent time to slow the bots down. I must have run 7.4 at least 5 times unserviced to lower the finishing time from 7:25 to 7:45, then I serviced and had no trouble getting to first and pulling away. Because of the limited amount of off track, I then turned on all assists and Tilt B and let the computer almost drive itself around the track. It was really, really weird, but it worked. As it was the first time I had run the car with all assists on, I was uncomfortable enough in the chicane to brake earlier myself rather then let the assists do it for me.
