Stage 01 (Mazda 717C (1983))

Players who successfully complete all of the goals given in the first stage (Mazda 717C (1983)) are rewarded with R$icon30,000 and 5 Icon Gold. Throughout the first stage, players will have to race the Mazda 787B on Circuit des 24 Heures.

Would you look at that: it's almost the 24 Hours of Le Mans! Incredible to think it's already been a year... Speaking of time, we've been sponsored by the Société historique de la Sarthe to showcase the win of 1991!

Zoé's going to help us as we follow the story of Mazda as far back as the 717C's beginnings in 1983, all the way up to the 787B's victory in 1991.

Quote Zoé
That's right - I'll be here to make sure things go smoothly, and to help you show off what the 787B can do, by prepping stunts, and driving in tandem.

Mazda started their journey with the 717C, entering two of them into the 1983 24 Hours of Le Mans under the 'C Jr' Group. We'll be starting our journey at Le Mans with two 787Bs.

I'm impressed you were able to hit that top speed, even though in 1983 the Mulsanne Straight had no chicanes. Just goes to show how much Mazda improved on their 1983 717C design!

If you can keep up that grade of performance, I may just be able to convince the Société to give us the 787B at the tail end of this adventure... But for now, get some rest for tomorrow we're off to Japan!

The TS040 is impressive, and the GT-R LM Nismo is definitely unconventional. It was this combination in the 787B that led to its victory, and it's good to see that spirit still alive in Japanese manufacturers.

I think we'll see another Japanese pioneered win at Le Mans... But we have to keep our journey rolling by heading to Germany tomorrow. We'll be meeting some folks who know quite a bit about victory at Le Mans.

Leipzig - a pretty weird place to drive a Mazda, right? But the Porsche test track comes with something very important to our journey - a huge collection of Porsche victories at Le Mans!

Porsche won from '85 through '87 against the 727C's successor, the 737C, and lucky for us, Eric thinks he can get the Porsche to go alongside our history lessons and join the showcase!

Stage 04 (Mazda 757 (1986/87))

Players who successfully complete all of the goals given in the fourth stage (Mazda 757 (1986/87)) are rewarded with R$icon20,000 and 10 Icon Gold. Throughout the fourth stage, players will have to race the Mazda 787B and Porsche 962C on Porsche Test Track.

Quote Eric
The 757 followed the 737C, and was the first chassis built entirely by Mazdaspeed. It competed from '86 to '88, but gearbox problems caused the first failure finish at Le Mans for Mazdaspeed in '86.

Meanwhile, the Porsche 962C won both '86 and '87. It's terrible that Magnus has exclusive right to put his grubby hands all over it - something we need to fix.

Footnotes

  1. The way FM display the date isn't very clear, they use a rounding factor. The days and hours remaining, to start, is changing at mid day or on the half hour. The closing date and time displayed is a cautious closing date and time.

The best time to start is late in the day local time, as the next stage opens at midnight local time.

If the event is started 11PM June 12th 2017 (local time), the event can be completed 8x24 hours later, 11PM June 21st 2017. Allowing almost two full days to complete the last stage.
