  • Hi Dave.

    I've been thinking about Minimum Upgrades and Strategy and would like to progress to the next step as mentioned by you and Michael but I'm struggling for the following reasons ...

    1. Your Strategy table confuses the hell out of me!

    2., I could come up with an optimum start-to-end strategy BUT once you diverge from that (i.e. buy/upgrade another car OR further upgrade the specified car) it doesn't work and would need to be re-calculated from your current position to completion ... which is no good for a static webpage.

    Any advice or suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Nick

    • Sorry, been a little busy. Will try and write a guide this evening. I'm assuming you are in a different timezone to me (London, UTC+1)

    • Hi Dave. Thanks but don't worry. Michael's quote from the page and re-reading the page comments and looking through the table kind of explained it to me ... still very confusing. I had my first bash at something comparable generated from my extracted data ... Sandbox14 ... it's a first pass so be gentle! Let me know what you think. Thanks, Nick

  • Hello sirebel am on driver level 72 and want to join a very active team i put in abt 2 to 3 hours weekdays and 3 to 4 hours in weekends.thankx

    • Ronisiagi Our team is full right now but the captain is Tkootstra if you want to contact him and tell him you are interested. If you start a thread in this forum Social and Race Teams Threads you might find there are teams currently looking for members. Whilst we don't have any specific entry requirements we do usually place in the top 100 for non-speed events and top 200 for speed events. You might find our team a little challenging if you don't have a reasonably full garage.

  • I see you're making your way into group A of all the time trials. Why not go over to the MyRealRacing forum and pit yourself against other drivers, including some aliens. I recently started over there and it's kept my interest in the game alive.

    • You doubt that I could get into the Top 1000 in stage 4 with an R$ only upgraded car? Oh ye of little faith. Of course I may have created the table when I first ran the WTTT (I think I was something like 19s off the pace with R$ only) and forgot to update it as I upgraded the Ferrari. All honest and above board now :-D.

    • No worries, I'm curious how people get to a full garage too but we do need to keep the achievement threads as clear of discussion as possible, especially ones that will be only lightly populated with achievements for quite some time yet.

  • Hi dear admin,

    Firstly, i'd like to thank you for your great work on this wiki. Your work and guidance along with other admins/mods is highly appreciated by newbies like myself and give us a push to improve awhile having fun.

    In this direction (improvement), i have 2 questions to my problems. Please reply only when you have free time. I'm not in a hurry...it will take some years to finish the game, lol.

    1. In my profile's page, how can i put My WTT History section under My WTT as a "tree", like you have done to your page? btw: your page is the best by far, so i decided to follow your example.

    2. If it is not much trouble, i'd like to know how i can make tables. What i wiish for is a table for My Garage page that will include following info: Base PR, Purchase cost, Current PR (Upgrades), Required PR (Upgrades), Actual cost*. It is similar to http://rr3.wikia.com/wiki/RR3_Wiki:Car_Costs but yet, i'd like to modify it a bit.

    • the cost for GC cars that sometimes are bought on sales, won on events etc

    Thanks in advnce & take your time on this. i will wait patiently

    • [[User:Evangelos Th30s|Evangelos Th30s] thank you for the feedback and kind words. I've worked in IT all of my life so creating web pages isn't really hard for me and we basically use a wiki like tool for documentation these days so it's not that different to me.

      The contents at the top of my page is created automatically if you use headings. Headings are created using equal signs at the start of the line and at the end of the line. The number of equal signs you use defines the heading level (h2 ==, h3 ===, h4 === etc). This page gives you some of the basic formatting markup. If you select classic edit on my profile page and click on the source tab you will see all the markup being used. My advice would be to change the default editor to source view. It's much easier than using the visual editor if you want to do more complex things.

      The best way to learn how to write wiki tables is to look at examples and copy them. This is what I did to create my outstanding upgrades table and the all cars table. They basically both use the same template. Templates are also a good thing to learn and make formatting tables much easier.

      The basic way to do a table can be seen on this page. Which defines the headers like this:

      {| class="wikitable" style="text-align:center; border: 2px solid #6C93B1"
      ! scope="col" style="background-color: #6C93B1; color: white;" |Car
      ! scope="col" style="background-color: #6C93B1; color: white;" |Picked

      Each row then looks like this:

      |-
      | style="border-right-color:initial;" |[[Ariel Atom 3.5]]
      | style="border-right-color:initial;"|1

      And the footer looks like this:

      |-
      | style="border-right-color:initial;"|Total
      | style="border-right-color:initial;"| 112
      |}

      Whilst this is a simple approach, if you want to change any style or formatting you need to change every row in your table. A much better way is to create a template for the header, row and footer. You can create your own templates in your user space using something like this:

      Templates are then used in your table like this:

      {{User:Sirebel/H/carstate1}}
      {{User:Sirebel/R/carstate1|a|b|c|d}}
      {{User:Sirebel/T/carstate1}}

      Where a/b/c/d represent the values you want to pass to the template as parameter 1,2,3,4 etc.

      As I said, the best way to learn is to copy what other people have done. Don't be afraid to press the edit button and view their source (as long as you don't change anything on other peoples pages) and copy what they have done into your own page. Make some small changes and see what it does to your table. Don't be afraid of messing things up. If you look under edit history you will see that all changes can be reversed.

      I would suggest having a look at some of the help pages on the wiki, getting used to the source view and experimenting in your own sandbox area. You should also check out Sandbox which explains some of the markup.

      Hope this helps and always happy to answer questions and help people learn how to edit the wiki. I look forward to you helping out improve the wiki once you've learnt how to do it on your profile page ;-)

  • Hi. I built a spreadsheet to allow people to track their cars and upgrades and calculate how much they still need to spend (R$ and/or Gold) per car and it total. It will take 1-2 hours to initially populate but is then really easy to update. Do you want to have a look at it? Nick

    • Yeah but if he manages to populate his database using PowerQuery from the wiki and can then update the wiki from his database he may put us all out of a job.

  • Hi Siribel, and thank you for your useful WTTT script. Do you think it's possible to modify it  so the players being in A in one or more tracks may add the last in A or the first in B, and so avoiding the error messages ?

  • In the 'Like to Race some Wiki Members' thread, I think that a person implied I am a cheat. He said that I posted a comment somewhere on this wiki where I said I am a cheater. This hurt me, as I am young and I NEVER EVER resort to those ways.

    Can you tell me where I can view all the comments I have posted?

  • Hey Sirebel.

    In view of the upcomming sale on Porsche 911 RSR (2015) upgrades, I checked the upgrade plan; 3333233 @ 235 gold in Upgrades Strategy.

    In your Car stat, which I copied :-) the entry reads

    Sirebel 911 2015
