The Mazda Furai was a concept car that debuted in 2008. It was revealed December 27, 2007. The Furai officially debuted at the 2008 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The word "Furai" means "sound of the wind".
The car wore the number 55, which is that of its 1991 24 Hours of Le Mans-winning ancestor, the 787B. Unlike many concept cars, the Furai was fully functional and was tested at various tracks. It ran at Laguna Seca and Buttonwillow, and was destroyed by fire during Top Gear's road tests in 2008.
The Mazda Furai is available in two series:
- Concept vs Production bonus series in the Legend category
- Mazda Furai (Exclusive Series) in the Exclusive Series category.
This vehicle was added in the Mazda Update (v5.4.0) released in July 2017 and can be unlocked by earning 23 trophies in Concept vs Production. Fully-upgrading this car, once owned, will unlock Mazda Furai (Exclusive Series).
This vehicle can be acquired for 700 or 560 with showcase discount. It can sometimes be bought for ?? as a 'Get it Now' price, unlocking Concept vs Production.
